Labor Day weekend is upon us and there are several Fort Oglethorpe events.
The Catoosa County Chamber of Commerce will be having Networking at Lunch on Thursday. The luncheon begins at 11:50 a.m. and the location is The Colonnade at Benton Place Campus in Ringgold, Ga.
Thanks to all who helped in the Fort Oglethorpe Cruise-In on July 17. It was a success, even though we had rain. The Cruise-In will continue through November. We need volunteers to help since the event is growing.

On Thursday, July 1, there will be an open office day in Catoosa County, giving residents an opportunity to meet individually with state and federal representatives about any personal issues they may have concerning state and federal government.
On June 19, the city of Fort Oglethorpe will host another Cruise-In at the Park. There will be a 50/50 cash drawing, door prizes, plus a deejay to play ’50s and ’60s music all day long. All vehicles are welcome at no charge. The cruise-in will be along Highway 27 between Highway 2A and Battlefield Parkway. We will have food vendors all along the road. The Catoosa County Recreation Department is announcing that it is once again hosting the Dizzy Dean 7-Year-Old Baseball World Series from July 15-22 at Jack Mattox Park located between Fort Oglethorpe and Ringgold.
