Hamilton County Schools will kick off the sale of the Kids First Coupon Books on Saturday and will sell them through Sept. 24. The cost is still $10 and the schools get to keep $7 from every book they sell.

Mark your calendar for an evening in the park. On Tuesday from 6-9 p.m., the Neighborhood Pride Association, the Red Bank Council of the Chattanooga Area Chamber of Commerce and the City of Red Bank will host the first "National Night Out Block Party" at the Red Bank City Park across from the Bi-Lo. Bring your lawn chair and relax, the night is filled with some great music, food, booth vendors and entertainment. For more information, go to www.redbanknpa.org.

When was the last time you had a good grilled hamburger? The Red Bank Council of the Chattanooga Area Chamber of Commerce is having a cook-out at its luncheon, set for the Red Bank Community Center on Tuesday at noon. Council President and Chef Jack Wood, owner of Southern Restaurant, will be in charge of the grill, so it should be pretty tasty.

Tonight, Hamilton County Commissioner Fred Skillern will be the guest speaker at the Red Bank-White Oak Historical Society meeting. The meeting starts at 6:30 p.m. at the Red Bank Fire Hall located next to the former Bi-Lo site.

The community is invited to an "Accessory Therapy" event hosted by Erlanger North on Morrison Springs Road. It will be held today from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Vendors will be onsite with bags, trinket, accessories and more. For information, call Dawn Blackwell at 423-778-7849.

School is out for the summer. I hope everyone has a fun and safe summer vacation.

The Baylor School varsity lacrosse team traveled to Memphis recently and defeated Ensworth 9-6 in the TSLA playoffs.They earned the TSLA Division II state championship.

Come support the Red Bank Middle School Sports Boosters on Saturday, May 8, during their Yard Sale/Bake Sale. The event takes place from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the football field behind Red Bank Middle School. The proceeds will be used to purchase new football uniforms.

Just in time for planting your spring flowers, Red Bank has a new Garden Center located on the north end of Dayton Boulevard across from Lillie Mae’s. Stop by and see the selection of beautiful flowers and shrubs.
