Davis and Brown

The engagement of Emily Diane Davis and Winston Garth Brown is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Allan Boyd of Hixson and Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Glendon Davis Jr. of Ringgold, Ga. Parents of the future bridegroom are Mr. and Allen Campbell Brown of Lookout Mountain. The wedding is planned for Friday, Sept. 19, in Alys Beach, Fla. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Evelyn Marie Davis of Ringgold, the late Thomas Glendon Davis Sr., and the late Mr. and Mrs. Billy Jack Walker. Miss Davis is a stylist with Level 10 Salon. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Mrs. Edward Emerson Brown Jr. of Lookout Mountain, the late Mr. Brown and the late Mr. and Mrs. Winston Fearn Garth. Mr. Brown is a financial services professional with Brown Associates Inc.

Lynn and Harvey

Laurie Lynn became the bride of Kell Harvey in a ceremony on Saturday, May 31, at First Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Dr. Gary Carver performed the ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Jeff and Brenda Lynn of Temple, Ga. Parents of the bridegroom are Mark and Jamie Harvey of Signal Mountain. Leslie Lynn and Jessica Tillotson were the bride’s honor attendants. Bridesmaids were Stephanie Askew, Elaine Clark, Abbie Holt, Natalie Hostetler, Breeze Miller, Lesley Moore, Meredith Quarles, Megan Ryan and Jessica Weiss. Mr. Harvey served his son as best man. Groomsmen were Ben Britt, Brandon Cox, Nick Edwards, Brad Fuqua, Josh Hicks, Drew Lyness, Derek Milner, John Prince, Bryan Swafford and Troy Williams. A reception was held at Stratton Hall. After a wedding trip to Playa Mujeres, Mexico, the couple reside in this city.

Jennifer Anne Zellner became the bride of James Darden Purgason in a ceremony on Saturday, July 26, at Signal Crest United Methodist Church. The Rev. Barry Kidwell performed the ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Jim and Barbara Zellner. Parents of the bridegroom are Richard Purgason and Andrea Pereira of Buford, Ga. Alyssa Zellner was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Virginia Konvalinka, Elizabeth Fieser, Petia Chavdarova and Rachel Landry. Grayce Purgason was the flower girl. Groomsmen were Jamie Bedenbaugh, Clint Jones, Matt Zaro, Brion Packett and Chip Bates. Cole Williams was ring bearer. A reception was held at Church on Main.

The engagement of Kara Kristine Stadelman and Richard Lee Matthews Jr. is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of James and Diane Stadelman of Kent, Ohio. Parents of the future bridegroom are Richard Sr. and Terry Matthews. The wedding is planned for Saturday, June 27, 2015 in Akron, Ohio. Miss Stadelman received a degree in music education from Mercyhurst College. She is a music teacher at Brookwood Elementary School in Dalton, Ga. Mr. Matthews received a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville and a master’s degree in sports management from American Military University. He is a logistics coordinator at Coyote Logistics.

Pomerance and Stangarone

Andrea Marie Pomerance and Eric Michael Stangarone were married in Tiburon, Calif., on Saturday, May 10, 2014. The wedding ceremony at Old St. Hilary’s Church was followed by a reception at the Corinthian Yacht Club, both in Tiburon. The couple traveled to Bali, Indonesia, on their honeymoon. The Rev. Michael Nolan of Chattanooga and Deacon Frank Ruggiero (Andrea’s uncle) from Columbia, Mo., officiated. Andrea, the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Glenn Pomerance (Mary) of Ooltewah, Tenn., graduated from Baylor School and from Colby College in Maine. She is Global Marketing Lead at IDEO, a design and innovation firm with headquarters in Palo Alto and offices worldwide. Eric is the son of Mr. Robert Stangarone of Boca Raton, Fla., and Mrs. Cheryl Churchill of Waterford, Va. Eric graduated from Johnson and Wales University in Charleston, S.C., with a degree in Culinary Arts and from the University of Virginia, Charlottesville with a degree in Business. Eric is Creative Director at The Culinary Edge, an international culinary consulting firm in San Francisco. He is chef and co-owner of En Su Boca, a Northern California inspired Taqueria in Richmond, Va. The couple resides in San Francisco.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Bertha Kirby of Dayton, Tenn., the late George M. Kirby and the late Ishmael W. and Jeannine Wright. Miss Wright is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in human resources at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. She is employed in customer service with Imax Theatre/Tennessee Aquarium and is a member of Hixson United Methodist Church. The future bridegroom is the grandson of William C. Aitken of Mesa, Ariz., the late Yvonne M. Aitken and the late Raymond L. and Lillie E. Bryden. Mr. Bryden is pursuing an associate’s degree in information systems at Chattanooga State Community College. He is employed in customer service with Direct TV.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Gross. Parents of the bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. Roger Brackin of Hatton, Ala. Morgan Howard was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Mary Howard Ade, Kate Greene, Madison Jahn, Kathryn Jones, Jennifer Knowlton, Christy McCulloch, Abby Miller, Chele Roberts and Brittany Williams. Addison Knowlton and Amelia Knowlton were flower girls. Mr. Brackin served his son as best man. Groomsmen were Sam Brackin, Dustin Campbell, Luke Dutton, Andrew Gross, Bryan Gross, Charlie Knowlton, Chris Lovelady, Bradley Martin and Blake McCulloch. Pryce Dutton was ring bearer. A reception was held at The Mountain City Club. After a wedding to St. Lucia, the couple resides in this city.

He received a bachelor’s degree in history from Carthage College in Kenosha, Wis., where he was president of Tau Delta Psi fraternity. He received a master’s degree in public administration from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. He is director of downtown development for the city of Ringgold, Ga.
