The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Dr. Hadley and Betty Jean Conn and the late Edward and Patti McKinley. Miss Conn received a bachelor’s degree in history from Duke University, a master’s degree in social work from the University of Pennsylvania School of Social Policy and Practice, and a juris doctorate from the University of Pennsylvania Law School. She is an attorney in Washington, D.C. The future bridegroom is the grandson of the late Howard and Elizabeth Hale and the late Daniel and Brenda Crawley. Mr. Hale received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Wales at Aberystwyth, and a master’s degree from Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies. He is a human rights advocate.
