Dawson, and Smith

Don and Catherine Dawson of Ooltewah announce the engagement of their daughter, Lindsay Brooke Dawson, to Cpl. Alan Walker Smith, son of Barry and Sisty Bates and Dr. Terry Smith, all of Chattanooga. The wedding is planned for Saturday, Nov. 29, at Mountain Oaks Wedding Chapel. The future bride is the granddaughter of Evelyn Dawson and James and Julie Helms, all of Ooltewah. Ms. Dawson graduated from Ooltewah High School. She is pursuing a degree at Chattanooga State Technical Community College and is a member of East Brainerd Church of Christ. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Patsy Smith of Chattanooga, Charles and Gwen Bates of Birmingham, Ala., and Harley and Linda Weatherly and Don and Betty Smith, all of Chattanooga. Cpl. Smith graduated from Ooltewah High School. He serves in the U.S. Marine Corps and is a member of East Brainerd Church of Christ.

Mahurin and Mutter

Peter and Dixie Mahurin of Bowling Green, Ky., announce the engagement of their daughter, Sarah Joanna Mahurin, to Matthew David Mutter, son of Mitchell and Carol Mutter of Lookout Mountain, Tenn. The wedding is planned for Saturday, Nov. 22, at the Ritz Carlton Beach Club in Sarasota, Fla. The future bride is the granddaughter of Joanna Cann of Leitchfield, Ky. Ms. Mahurin received a bachelor’s degree in English and religious studies from Harvard University. She is pursuing a Ph.D. in English from Yale University. Mr. Mutter received a bachelor’s degree in English from the University North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is pursuing a Ph.D. in English from Yale University.

McCowan and Williams

The engagement of Kyeshia Sharmaine McCowan and Solomon Leborg Williams is announced today. Ms. McCowan is the daughter of Bonita McCowan of Spring City, Tenn., and Richard and Patricia McCowan of Park Forest, Ill. Parents of the prospective bridegroom are Tona Williams and Larry Hickey, both of Cleveland, Tenn. The wedding is planned for Saturday, Nov. 29, at the Colonnade Civic Center in Ringgold, Ga. The future bride is the granddaughter of Robert and Mattie McCowan of Athens, Tenn., the late Aurthur T. Gillespie and Beulah Gillespie of Spring City. Ms. McCowan graduated from Rhea County High School and received a bachelor’s degree in communications from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. She is a loan counseling manager with AMO Recoveries Inc. and is a member of Overcoming Faith Christian Center. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Vernon and Willa Dean Williams, the Rev. Clifford Craven, the late Pauline Craven and the late Nathaniel Blair, all of Cleveland. Mr. Williams graduated from Cleveland High School and received a bachelor’s degree in political science from Lee University. He is a driver recruiter with U.S. Xpress and is a member of Unity Christian Center.

Iraj and Mary K. Radpour of Soddy-Daisy announce the engagement of their daughter, Aria Lynn Radpour, to Ronald Scott Gilchrist, son of Cherie Gilchrist of Hixson and Ron and Tammy Gilchrist of Cartersville, Ga. The wedding is planned for Saturday, Nov. 22, at the Sheraton Read House. The future bride is the granddaughter of the late Edith Osborn and the late Hossein and Tahereh Radpour. Ms. Radpour graduated from Girls Preparatory School and received a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. She is owner of Images International and is a real estate agent with Innovative Realty. She is a member of the Bahai faith. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Joseph and Francis Gilchrist of Dayton, Tenn., and James and Libby Millsaps of Soddy-Daisy. Mr. Gilchrist graduated from Red Bank High School. He is owner of Gilchrist Sales Group and attends Middle Valley Church of Christ.

Frank and Linda Rimshaw of Knoxville announce the engagement of their daughter, Meagan Rose Rimshaw, to John Michael Mason, son of Mike and Brenda Mason of Chattanooga. The wedding is planned for Saturday, Dec. 13, at Cornerstone Church in Knoxville, where the couple are members. The future bride is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Kantor of Chicago and Stan Rimshaw of Farragut, Tenn. Ms. Rimshaw graduated from Berean Academy and received an associate degree in nursing from Roane State Community College. She is a nurse at East Tennessee Children’s Hospital. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Jack and Lorraine McWilliams of Knoxville and Weldon and Helen Mason of Victor, W. Va. Mr. Mason graduated from Chattanooga Christian School. He received a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, where he is pursuing a master’s degree in counseling. He is a program counselor with Penninsula Village.

Parents of the prospective bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Guy Kelley Jr. of Lookout Mountain, Ga. The wedding is planned for Saturday, Dec. 27, at Lookout Mountain Presbyterian Church, where the couple are members. The future bride is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Dudley Foster of Gypsom, Colo., and Mr. and Mrs. Cletus John Steiner of Ocala, Fla. Ms. Steiner graduated from Chattanooga Christian School and attended the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. The future bridegroom is the grandson of the late Dr. and Mrs. William Loring McCarty Sr. and the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Guy Kelley Sr., all of Montgomery, Ala. Mr. Kelley graduated from McCallie School. He received a bachelor’s degree in Spanish from the University of Georgia, where he is pursuing a medical degree.

Barton of Cloudland, Ga. The bride was given in marriage by her father. Rachel White Miller was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Corrynn Leigh Cochran, Allison Jane Cofer, Hollis Elizabeth Davenport, Jessica Cofer LaFoy, Catherine Cofer Lowe, Aarti Madan and Elizabeth Cofer Miller. Flower girls were Anna Virginia DeMarco, Isabella Anthony DeMarco, Amylia Grace Kelley and Alexandria Reese Maynor. Joseph Leonidas Miller served as best man. Groomsmen were Joshua Thomas Cordle, Andrew Charles Hall, Robert Edward Maples, William Tyler Mayner, Henry King Oehmig Jr., Andrew Ian Parker and Richard Sentell. The ring bearer was William Tanner Maynor, and the crucifer was Michael Randolph Cofer. A reception was held at Hunter Museum of American Art. The couple took a wedding trip to Italy, Switzerland and France. They will reside in Cloudland.
