Boryla and Brandel

Ronald and Patricia Boryla of Soddy-Daisy announce the engagement of their daughter, Rebecca Michelle Boryla, to Sean Marc Brandel, son of Judy Brandel of Milwaukie, Ore., and the late Gary Brandel. The wedding is planned for Friday, May 8, at Chapel at the Park in Gatlinburg, Tenn. The future bride is the granddaughter of Lillian Boryla of Sheridan, Texas, the late John Boryla, Raymond Houle of Cranston, R.I., and the late Barbara Silva of Attleboro, Mass. Ms. Boryla graduated from Soddy-Daisy High School and received an associate degree in computer science from Chattanooga State Technical Community College. She is employed as a provider dispute specialist and is a member of Covenant Church. The future bridegroom is the grandson of the late Eddie and Vera Linnum and the late Edwin and Florence Brandel, all of Portland, Ore. Mr. Brandel graduated from Rex Putnam High School and received a bachelor’s degree in liberal studies from Northern Arizona University. He is a customs and border protection officer.

Byram and Blakemore

The engagement of Sonya Irene Byram and Donnie Wayne Blakemore is announced today. The bride is the daughter of Syble Byram of Chattanooga and the late Kenneth E. Byram of South Pittsburg, Tenn. Parents of the prospective bridegroom are Ronnie Blakemore of Rossville and Karen Walker of Chattanooga. The wedding is planned for Saturday, Aug. 29. The future bride is the granddaughter of the late Mitchell and Ruby Smith of New Hope, Tenn. Ms. Byram graduated from South Pittsburg High School. She received certification in licensed practical nursing and an associate degree in business from Chattanooga State Technical Community College. She is a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Harold and Juanita Blakemore of Chickamauga, Ga. Mr. Blakemore graduated from Ridgeland High School and received a degree in flooring from Georgia Institute of Technology. He is owner of Superior Flooring and is a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church.

Cirlot and Ozborn

Mr. and Mrs. Robert L. Cirlot Jr. of Ringgold, Ga., announce the engagement of their daughter, Holly Jerrine Cirlot, to Samuel Bratis Ozborn, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gary Smith of Lucedale, Miss., and Dr. and Mrs. Michael Ozborn of Hixson. The wedding is planned for Saturday, May 16, at Brainerd Baptist Church, where the future bride is a member. The future bride is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Earle Taylor of Ocean Springs, Miss. Ms. Cirlot graduated from Ringgold High School and attended Mercer University. She is a corporate trainer with Convergys Corp. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Athelone Churchwell of Lucedale. Mr. Ozborn graduated from Notre Dame High School and received a bachelor’s degree in business management from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. He is a supervisor with Convergys Corp.

Feldman and Mishkin

Ron and Dana Feldman of Chattanooga announce the engagement of their daughter, Laura Robbins Feldman, to Benjamin Joseph Mishkin, son of Dr. Fredric and Susie Mishkin of Kingsport, Tenn. The wedding is planned for Saturday, May 16, at Laurelwood on Signal Mountain. The future bride is the granddaughter of Martine Kendall of Nashville, the late William Kendall, and the late Harry and Doris Feldman of Chattanooga. Ms. Feldman graduated from Chattanooga School for the Arts and Sciences and received a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Wellesley College in Wellesley, Mass. She is a fundraiser for College Mentors for Kids and attends Fairview Presbyterian Church in Indianapolis. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Gertrude Mishkin of Tamarac, Fla., the late Lawrence Mishkin, and Jack and Audree Altekruse of Seminole, Fla. Mr. Mishkin graduated from Dobyns-Bennett High School in Kingsport, Tenn., and received a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Dartmouth College. He received a master’s degree in computer science from Brown University in Providence, R.I. He is owner of Sagebit.

Hoskins and Akers

The engagement of Tiffany Elizabeth Hoskins and Michael Chadwick Akers is announced today. Ms. Hoskins is the daughter of Bobby and Sherry Baxter and Michael and Linda Hoskins, all of Ooltewah. Parents of the prospective bridegroom are Gayle Whitley of Westfield, Mass., and Mike Akers of Ooltewah. The wedding is planned for Saturday, June 20, at First Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Ms. Hoskins is pusuing a degree at Chattanooga State Technical Community College. She is employed by SunTrust Bank. Mr. Akers is employed by Pyramid Mouldings.

Robert and Melissa Jones of Vancouver, Wash., announce the engagement of their daughter, Heather J.M. Wagner, to William Joshua Nelms, son of William and Janice Nelms of Hixson. The wedding is planned for Saturday, May 16, in Pigeon Forge, Tenn. Ms. Wagner received a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Washington State University. She is pursuing a master’s degree in public health from the University of Massachusetts and is a research analyst at a behavioral health organization. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Doris Brown of Hixson. Mr. Nelms received a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Middle Tennessee State University. He is an actuarial analyst with Direct General Corp.

Whitehead and Jones

Mr. and Mrs. Jon Ellis Whitehead of Dalton, Ga., announce the engagement of their daughter, Julie Anne Whitehead, to Jason Bryan Jones, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Gilbert Jones of Chattanooga. The wedding is planned for Saturday, Sept. 12, in Chattanooga and a second ceremony in Positano, Italy, on Sept. 19. The future bride is the granddaughter of Mrs. Ellis Whitehead of Dalton, Ga., the late Mr. Whitehead, and the late Bessiphene Day of Chattanooga. Ms. Whitehead graduated from Girls Preparatory School. She graduated magna cum laude, from Savannah College of Art and Design and attended Parson’s School of Design in New York City. She is a designer with Shaw Industries and is a member of the Color Marketing Group. She is a member of First Presbyterian Church of Dalton. The future bridegroom is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Harry Michael Jones and the late Mr. and Mrs. James Edgar Potts Sr., all of Chattanooga. Mr. Jones graduated from Baylor School and received a bachelor’s degree, magna cum laude, from Vanderbilt University, where he was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity. He received certifications from D.E.L.I. Scuola Leonardo da Vinci in Florence, Italy, Duke University’s Intercollegiate Center for Classical Studies in Rome, Italy and Villa Vergiliana in Naples, Italy. He is a teacher at McCallie School and is a member of St. Jude Catholic Church.
