Engagement

Garvich and Armstrong

The engagement of Tenley Elizabeth Garvich and Nicholas William Armstrong is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jonathan Carl Garvich. Parents of the future bridegroom are Stephen Vance Armstrong of San Diego, Calif., and Dr. Miranda Hartley Armstrong of Tuscaloosa, Ala. The wedding is planned for Saturday, Jan. 23, at Independent Presbyterian Church in Birmingham, Ala., where both are members. The future bride is the ganddaughter of Helen Pennington Garvich, the late Charles Milton Garvich, James Lewis Williams and the late JoAnn Cain Williams. Miss Garvich is a graduate of Girls Preparatory School. She received a bachelor’s degree in business management and her juris doctor from the University of Alabama, where she was a member of Pi Beta Phi Sorority. She was presented in the 1999 Cotton Ball. She is an attorney at Lightfoot, Franklin & White, L.L.C. in Birmingham. The future bridegroom is the grandson of the late Oscar Vance Armstrong, Camilla Armstrong, William Hartley and Alison Taylor Hartley. Mr. Armstrong is a graduate of Indian Springs School. He received a bachelor’s degree in government and economics from Wesleyan University, where he was a member of Beta Theta Pi Fraternity. He received his juris doctor from the University of Alabama, and is an attorney at McCallum, Methvin & Terrell in Birmingham.

Prouty and Kowalski

The engagement of Natalie Janel Prouty and Jason Lee Kowalski is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Patricia Rawlings Prouty of Chickamauga, Ga., and John Philip Prouty III. Parents of the future bridegroom are Geane Phillips of Whitwell, Tenn., and Cherri Phillips of Sequatchie, Tenn. The wedding is planned for Saturday, April 10, at Georgia Wines Vineyards in Chattanooga Valley. The future bride is the granddaughter of Dr. Maurice S. Rawlings Sr. and Mrs. Glennice Stebbins. Ms. Prouty is pursuing a degree in veterinary technology from Chattanooga State Community College. She is employed as a veterinary assistant. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Lola Carson of Jasper, Tenn., and Bob Kowalski of Chicago. Mr. Kowalski is a graduate of Whitwell High School. He is employed by Veriform Industry.

Wedding

Stiles

Sarah Beth Moseley became the bride of John Whitney Stiles in a ceremony on Saturday, June 20, at First United Methodist Church in Franklin, Tenn. The Rev. Michael Kelley performed the ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael R. Moseley of Snowlake, Miss. Parents of the bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. Bill Stiles. The bride was given in marriage by her father. Lindsay Beals was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Leslie Gore, Faith Long, Emily Moseley, Lesley Searce and Avery Shelburne. Bailey Smith and Brynnan Smith were flower girls. Mr. Stiles served his son as best man. Groomsmen were Hunter Bethea, Ryon Greenawalt, Christopher Moseley, Nate Ragan, Daniel Scearce, Will Clark and Ben Johnson. Sam Scearce and Noah Moseley were ring bearers. A reception was held at The Factory in Franklin. The couple took a wedding trip to Maui, Hawaii. They reside in Nashville.

Collins and Gailmard

The engagement of Mary Elizabeth Collins and William Christopher Gailmard is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Keith D. Collins. Parents of the future bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. Christopher D. Gailmard. The wedding is planned for Saturday, Feb. 6, at Signal Mountain Presbyterian Church, where the bride-elect is a member. The future bride is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank D. Rogers. Miss Collins graduated from Notre Dame High School and attended the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. She is employed as an assistant teacher at Edu Care on Signal Mountain. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Barbara Gailmard of Santa Rosa, Fla., the late William Lewis Gailmard, Suzanne Shomaker and the late Frank Ashley Shomaker. Mr. Gailmard graduated from Notre Dame High School and attended the University of Eastern Kentucky. He is a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, and is currently serving in the U.S. Air Force.

Green and Bowman

The engagement of Angela Grauso Green and Billy Ray Bowman is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Joe and Lori Reed. Parents of the future bridegroom are the late Luther B. Bowman Sr. and James and Barbara Davis. The wedding is planned for Saturday, Feb. 14, at Peach Orchard Baptist Church where the future bridegroom is a member. The future bride is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Titus H. Harless. Miss Green is a graduate of Soddy-Daisy High School. She is a student at Chattanooga State Community College, where she is pursuing a nursing degree. The future bridegroom is the grandson of the late Tom and Reba Perkey and the late Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Bowman. Mr. Bowman is a graduate of Soddy-Daisy High School. He received a degree in environmental systems technology from the United States Air Force, from which he has retired.

The engagement of Katrina Marie vonWerssowetz and Christopher Logan Gooden is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Arthur J. vonWerssowetz. Parents of the future bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Gooden of Knoxville. The wedding is planned for Saturday, May 15, at Chattanooga Golf and Country Club. The future bride is the granddaughter of the late Drs. Arthur and Muriel vonWerssowetz and the late Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Barnes. Miss vonWerssowetz is a graduate of Girls Preparatory School. She received a bachelor’s degree in communications from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, where she was a member of Delta Gamma Sorority. She received a master’s degree in business administration and public health from East Tennessee State University. She is a member of St. Stephens Catholic Church, and is a student at James H. Quillen College of Medicine, where she plans to receive her medical degree in May. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Maryjo Gooden, the late L. Kimble Gooden and the late Mr. and Mrs. Herbert E. McNutt. Mr. Gooden is a graduate of Bearden High School. He received a bachelor’s degree in philosophy from Centre College, where he was a member of Pi Delta Theta Fraternity. He received a master’s degree in education and exercise physiology from ETSU. He is a member of Church of Ascension Episcopalian Church in Knoxville, and is employed as an exercise physiologist and strength coach at Tri-Cities Lifestyle Center.

The engagement of Fallon Sherree Fincher and Ryan Matthew Wilson is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Randy Fincher of LaFayette, Ga., and Christon O’Neal of Chickamauga, Ga. Parents of the future bridegroom are Sheriff and Mrs. Steve Wilson of LaFayette. The wedding is planned for Saturday, Feb. 27, at Peavine Baptist Church in Rock Spring, Ga. The future bride is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Larry Chapman of Rossville, Ga., Gail Young of Chickamauga, and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Fincher all of LaFayette. Her great-grandfather is William F. Christol, of LaFayette. Miss Fincher is a graduate of LaFayette High School and North Georgia Dental Assisting. She is employed as a dental assistant. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. George Wilson and Mr. and Mrs. Bassell Smith, all of LaFayette. Mr. Wilson is a graduate of LaFayette High School and Northwest Georgia Regional Police Academy. He is employed as a police officer by the city of Rossville.

The engagement of Kathryne Rose Wilson and Nathaniel Joseph Cameron is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Douglas and Audrey Foster of Riesel, Texas. Parents of the future bridegroom are Julius “Bud” Cameron of Birchwood, Tenn., and the late Deonne Cameron of LaFayette, Ga. The wedding is planned for Saturday, April 17, in Harrison, Tenn. The future bride is the granddaughter of Leonard and Martha Miller of Lorena, Texas, Ruth Foster of Riesel, and the late John Foster. Miss Wilson is a graduate of Memorial High School, and Chattanooga Massage Institute. She is a licensed massage therapist. The future bridegroom is the grandson of the late Paul and Pauline Moon and the late Eugene and Willy J. Cameron. Mr. Cameron is a graduate of Central High School. He received an associate’s degree from Chattanooga State Community College and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. He is a tattoo artist.

The engagement of Ashley Nicole Miller and Jason Franklin Campbell is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of James and Louise Miller of Whitwell, Tenn. Parents of the future bridegroom are Frank and Eleanor Campbell. The wedding is planned for Saturday, Jan. 16. The future bride is the granddaughter of Verlie McCormick and the late Lois McCormick. The future bridegroom is the grandson of James and Edith McEntyre of Whitwell. Mr. Campbell is a graduate of Whitwell High School. He is employed as water superintendent by Whitwell City Water Works.

Christine Nichole DeHart became the bride of James Lucas McFadden in a ceremony on Saturday, Dec. 27, 2008, at First Cumberland Presbyterian Church. The Rev. William Robert Edwards performed the ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Lynn DeHart. Parents of the bridegroom are Dr. and Mrs. Earl Boyd McFadden Jr. of Columbia, S.C. The bride was given in marriage by her father. Susan Kent was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Morgan Cogswell, Elizabeth Gass, Amanda Hersh, Christin Johnson, Kathleen Jordet, Lauren McFadden, Mary McArthur McFadden, Katherine Osburn, Cameron Ryan and Lauren Simpson. Natalie Grace Miller was the flower girl. Dr. McFadden served his son as best man. Groomsmen were Richard Bogan, Michael DeHart II, James Fowles IV, Benjamin Grindle, Martin Holmes Jr., Ethan Kenney, Soren Kornegay, Benjamin Leathers, John Zachary McFadden, Bryan Overcarsh and Lana Sims IV. Elijah David Grindle was ring bearer. A reception was held at the Sheraton Read House. The couple took a wedding trip to Quebec City, Canada. They reside in Charleston, S.C.
