The engagement of Kelley Jean Brooks and Bradlee John Simoneaux is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mark Wheeler Brooks. Parents of the future bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. Kirk John Simoneaux of Baton Rouge, La. The wedding is planned for Saturday, Aug. 8, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. The future bride is the granddaughter of Betty Brooks, the late Henry Allen Brooks and the late Mr. and Mrs. Roderick Kingston McKenzie Sr. Ms. Brooks is a graduate of Ooltewah High School. She received a bachelor’s degree in political science from Birmingham-Southern College, where she was a member of Alpha Chi Omega Sorority. She is a student at the University of Tennessee College of Law. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Emrey Liles Harp and the late Eldred Lee Harp of Baton Rouge, Herbert John Simoneaux and the late Helen Bordelon Simoneaux of Marksville, La. Mr. Simoneaux is a graduate of Catholic High School. He received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Birmingham-Southern College, where he was a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity. He is a financial counselor with 21st Mortgage Corp.

The engagement of Alisha Nicole Dobson and Brian Scott Self is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Joanne Dobson of Lanett, Ala., and Mr. and Mrs. Edward Dobson of Standing Rock, Ala. Parents of the future bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. Scott Self of Graysville, Ga. The wedding is planned for Saturday, Aug. 1, at New Heights Baptist Church. The future bride is the granddaughter of Charlotte C. Reeves of Lanett, the late Joe Reeves, Betty S. Dobson of Lanett, LaRue Dobson, the late William “Terrell” Dobson of Plano, Texas, Mr. and Mrs. Eldridge Lumpkin of LaGrange, Ga., and the late James Smith. Ms. Dobson is a graduate of North Buncombe High School. She attends Johnston Community College. She is a member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Garner, N.C., and is employed by Wee School Child Development Center in Clayton, N.C. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Kitty Self of Graysville, the late Avery Self, Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Norton of Ringgold, Ga., and Mr. and Mrs. A.J. Davis of Rome, Ga. Mr. Self is a graduate of Ringgold High School. He received a bachelor’s degree in biblical studies from Southeastern Baptist College, and is currently attending Southeastern Seminary. He is a member of Shiloh Baptist Church, where he is youth pastor.

The engagement of Katherine Joyce Mason and Gregory Owen Balint is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Bill and Denise Mason of Kimball, Tenn. Parents of the future bridegroom are Richard and Angela Balint of Melbourne, Fla. The wedding is planned for Saturday, Aug. 1, at Wild Moon Ranch and Resort in Rising Fawn, Ga. The future bride is the granddaughter of Kathy Cagle, the late Charles Cagle, Freda Mason and the late Dick Mason, all of South Pittsburg, Tenn. Ms. Mason is a graduate of South Pittsburg High School. She received a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. She is a teacher at Harmony School of Science in Houston, Texas. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Nick and Lillian Roca of Palm Bay, Fla., and the late Fred and Lorraine Balint of Sarasota, Fla. Mr. Balint is a graduate of Shiloh High School. He received an associate’s degree in computer animation from the Art Institute of Atlanta. He is art director at Bayou City Productions in Houston.

Mrs. Levi is a Realtor/broker at Keller Williams Realty. Mr. Levi is owner/operator of Clark Levi Heating and Air, and a member of Central Baptist Church.

She is pursuing a master’s degree in human skeletal biology at New York University, and is employed at dlandstudio LLC architecture firm in Brooklyn, N.Y. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Eunice Buckner Cathy, the late James Ben Cathy, Elizabeth Dendy Patch and the late William Harrison Patch of Houston, Miss. Mr. Patch is a graduate of McCallie School. He received a bachelor’s degree in English from Dartmouth College, where he was a member of Psi Upsilon Fraternity. He is a partner at PixelfixNY consulting firm in New York City.

She is an acute care nurse practitioner with the Memorial Hospitalists Group. Mr. Lopes is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jose Luis DeSouza and the late Mr. and Mrs. Emanuel Lopes. He is a graduate of Broadview Academy. He received a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Southern Adventist University and is a graduate of the nurse anesthesia program at Erlanger. He is a nurse anesthetist with Anesthesiologists Associated, and a member of Collegedale Seventh-day Adventist Church. They reside in Ooltewah.
