She received a bachelor’s degree in psychology/criminology from Auburn University, where she was a member of Pi Beta Phi Sorority. She is a Realtor with ReMax Renaissance Realtors. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Betty Thaxton and James Brown of Fort Myers, Fla. Mr. Brown is a graduate of Baylor School. He received a bachelor’s degree in international business from Auburn University, where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Sorority. Mr. Brown is an insurance agent with Nationwide Insurance.

He received a bachelor’s degree in business from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville and is a graduate of the Gupton Jones College of Mortuary Science. He is employed as a funeral director at Heritage Funeral Home, and he is the leader of the Ben Friberg Trio.
