Barron and Gray

Dr. and Mrs. Noel Douglas Barron Jr. announce the engagement of their daughter, Anna Grace Barron, to Jonathan Nathan Gray, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Nathan Gray II of Camden, Tenn. The wedding is planned for Saturday, Sept. 5, at Signal Mountain Presbyterian Church. Miss Barron is the granddaughter of Pat Barron, the late Noel D. Barron Sr., and the late John and Marlys Higgins of Dallas. The bride-elect is a graduate of Girls Preparatory School, and received bachelor’s degrees in microbiology and Spanish from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. She is a medical student at the UT Health Science Center in Memphis. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Ruth Mardyla of Palm Bay, Fla., the late Walter P. Mardyla, and the late Charlie and Carol Gray. Mr. Gray is a graduate of Camden Central High School and received bachelor’s degrees in mathematics and physics from Florida State University. He is pursuing his doctorate in mathematics from UTK.

Cooke and Stanley

The engagement of Amy Nelle Cooke and Sterling Grant Stanley is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Winborn Clarke Cooke Jr. Parents of the future bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. Tony Stedman Stanley of Lenoir City, Tenn., and Jolena Gibson of Newport, Tenn. The wedding is planned for Saturday, Oct. 17, at Signal Crest United Methodist Church, where the future bride is a member. The future bride is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Horace McSwain Robison of Atlanta, and Mr. and Mrs. Winborn Clarke Cooke Sr. of North Litchfield, S.C. Ms. Cooke received a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education from Carson-Newman College, where she was a member of Chi Lambda Sigma Sorority, and a master’s degree in educational leadership from Trevecca Nazarene University. She is a teacher with Hamilton County school system. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Mavis Stanley of Lenoir City, Tenn., the late Robert Stanley and the late Floyd and Juanita Gowan. Mr. Stanley received an associate’s degree in mechanical engineering from Pelissippi State Technical Community College. He is a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church, and is employed as an industrial maintenance apprentice at PBR Automotive in Knoxville.

Gossman and Gossett

The engagement of Kaleigh Suzanne Gossman and James Cody Gossett is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Dave and Jan Gossman of Newburgh, Ind. Parents of the future bridegroom are John and Cindy Bishop of Ringgold, Ga., and George and Kathy Gossett. The wedding is planned for Saturday, Aug. 1, at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Evansville, Ind. The future bride is the granddaughter of Dorothy Mills, the late Tom Mills, and James and Mary Anne Gossman, all of Evansville. Miss Gossman is a graduate of Castle High School. She received a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry from Lipscomb University. She is employed as a developmental chemist at Chattem Inc. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Jim and Wynelle Byers, Estelle Gossett and the late J.R. Gossett. Mr. Gossett is a graduate of Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe High School. He attended the University of West Georgia, where he majored in computer science. He is employed as a general contractor with Gossett Co.

The Rev. and Mrs. Steven Sellers of Jasper, Tenn., announce the engagement of their daughter, Kelly Elizabeth Middleton, to Richard Eugene Cox Jr. Mr. Cox is the son of Louise Cox, Richard Eugene Cox Sr. of Las Vegas, and Gwen Wheeler of Jasper, Tenn. The wedding is planned for Saturday, Sept. 12, at the home of Dr. and Mrs. Larry Sellers in Whitwell, Tenn., grandparents of the bride-elect. The engagement of Alicia M. Perry and Darvin C. Foo is announced today. Miss Perry is the daughter of Alden and Carolene Perry. Mr. Foo is the son of Raymond Foo of San Francisco and the late Joanne Foo. The wedding is planned for Sunday, Sept. 27, in Atlanta. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Pauline W. Grossnickle, the late Carroll U. Grossnickle, the late Dr. John H. Perry and the late Betsey Perry. Miss Perry is a graduate of Girls Preparatory School. She received a bachelor’s degree in religion from Presbyterian College and a master’s degree in guidance and school counseling from University of West Georgia. She is employed as a school counselor in Rockdale County, Ga. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Frances Lee, the late Harry Lee, the late Dr. Peter Sah and the late Ethel Sah. Mr. Foo is a graduate of Lowell High School and received a bachelor’s degree in physiology and certification in physical therapy from the University of California at Davis. He is a physical therapist and a graduate student in the physician assistant program at Emory University.

The future bride is granddaughter of Beatrice Phillips, the late Morris W. Phillips, and the late Mr. and Mrs. William King Richardson, all of Columbia. Miss Richardson is a graduate of Cardinal Newman High School. She received a bachelor’s degree in exercise science and doctorate in physical therapy from the University of South Carolina, where she was a member of Chi Omega Sorority. She is a member of Trenholm Road United Methodist Church, and is employed as a physical therapist. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Dolly Prack of Cincinnati, the late Arthur Prack, Margaret Ross of St. Louis, and the late William Edward Snodgrass Sr. Mr. Snodgrass is a graduate of McCallie School. He attended the University of South Carolina, where he was a member of Pi Kappi Phi Fraternity. He is a member of First-Centenary United Methodist Church, and is employed as a branch sales manager for Heritage Crystal Clean in Cayce, S.C.

She graduated from the dental hygiene program at Chattanooga State Technical Community College and is employed as a dental hygienist for Dr. Kaz Hasnani in Jasper, Tenn., and Dr. Lynda Moore in Dayton, Tenn. She is a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. The prospective bridegroom is the grandson of the late Edith and Grady Roberts and the late Ruby and Hubert Pruitt. Mr. Roberts is a graduate of Soddy-Daisy High School and is pursuing a degree in criminal justice from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. He is a manager at the Chattanooga Marriott and Convention Center.

A dinner was held following the ceremony at The Granary at Spring Creek Ranch in Jackson, Wyo. After a wedding trip to the Grant Teton and Yellowstone national parks, the couple will reside in Cambridge, Mass., where they are both postdoctoral research scientists at Harvard University.
