Blair and Dobbs

The engagement of Jana Leigh Blair and Jared Lee Dobbs is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Kevin and Sheri Blair. Parents of the future bridegroom are Tony and Lee Dobbs. The wedding is planned for Saturday, Aug. 8, at the Fairyland Club. The future bride is the granddaughter of Richard and Patricia Wall of Leonard, Texas, and Alton and Sara Blair of Lindale, Texas. Miss Blair is a graduate of Soddy-Daisy High School. She is pursuing a degree in nursing from Tennessee Technological University, where she is a member of Kappa Delta Sorority. She is a member of Dallas Bay Baptist Church. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Jim and Jesse Dobbs. Mr. Dobbs is a graduate of Soddy-Daisy High School and is pursuing a degree in mechanical engineering from Tennessee Tech. He is a member of Dallas Bay Baptist Church.

Edwards and Hale

The engagement of Emily Elizabeth Edwards and Howard Dwayne Hale Jr. is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Connie R. Edwards and the late Robert A. Edwards. Parents of the future bridegroom are Donna Hale and Dwayne Hale. The wedding is planned for Saturday, Aug. 8, in Patten Chapel on the campus of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. The future bride is the granddaughter of the late Bill and Agnes Redden, Phyllis Edwards of Memphis and the late Lidell Edwards. Ms. Edwards is a graduate of Notre Dame High School. She received a bachelor’s degree in communications from UTC. She is employed by the Hamilton County District Attorney’s Office. The future bridegroom is the grandson of the late Henry and Helen Hale. Mr. Hale is a graduate of Ooltewah High School. He received certification as an EMT from Chattanooga State Technical Community College. He is co-owner of Fun Time Foods.

The engagement of Amanda Brooke Flerl and Andrew Bradley Lett is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Michael and Sherry Flerl of Lawrenceville, Ga. Parents of the future bridegroom are David and Jennifer Lett of Duluth, Ga. The wedding is planned for Saturday July 18, in Norcross, Ga. The future bride is the granddaughter of Robert and Shirley Moody, and the late Wilburn and Linda Flerl. Ms. Flerl received a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education from Berry College, and a master’s degree in early childhood education from Mercer University. She is a member of Shadowbrook Baptist Church in Suwanee, Ga., and is an elementary schoolteacher. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Mavis Fellers and the late Ray Fellers of Johnson City, Tenn., Evelyn Lett and the late Foster Lett of Knoxville. Mr. Lett received a bachelor’s degree in vocal performance from Mercer University. He is a member of Norcross First United Methodist Church, and is a student at Asbury Theological Seminary.

She is a teacher at East Lake Elementary School, and a member of Silverdale Baptist Church. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Hugh and Dorothy Reed, Betty Blackwood, Charles R. Blackwood Sr. and Sherri Blackwood, all of Nashville. Mr. Blackwood is a graduate of Ooltewah High School. He received a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. He is an engineer with MAP Engineers, and a member of Silverdale Baptist Church.

The future bride is the granddaughter of Jule Davis Duke Sr., the late Johnsie Elliott Duke of Athens, Tenn., Ailene Hensley and the late John Franklin Hensley. Ms. Hensley is a graduate of Baylor School. She received a bachelor’s degree in architecture from Auburn University, where she was a member of Phi Mu Sorority. She was presented at the 2005 Cotton Ball. She is an architect with Franklin Associates Architects, and a member of First-Centenary United Methodist Church. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Harold Dugger Powell Sr., the late Eleanor Willingham Powell of Signal Mountain, Henry A. Clapp Jr. and the late Mary M. Clapp. Mr. Powell is a graduate of McCallie School. He received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Auburn University, where he was a member of Beta Theta Pi Fraternity. He is an insurance agent with Rowland, Slaten and Stevens, and is a member of First Presbyterian Church.

The future bridegroom is the grandson of the late Rachel Johnson Scott, the late Harry Vernett Scott, Sandra Simpson LeSourd of Billings, Mont., the late Catherine Marshall LeSourd, and the late Leonard Earle LeSourd. Mr. LeSourd is a graduate of McCallie School. He received a bachelor’s degree in history from Auburn University, where he was a member of Phi Gamma Delta Fraternity. He is brokerage manager for Conwell and Associates in Birmingham.

Dr. Craven received a bachelor’s degree from UTC, a master’s degree from Georgia Institute of Technology, and a Ph.D in engineering from Virginia Tech, all summa cum laude. He is an assistant professor of engineering at UTC.

Flower girl was the bride’s granddaughter, Chanler Eleton. John Fitzgerald served his brother as best man. A reception was held at Moyer Farm. The couple took a wedding trip to Jacksonville and are residing in Rossville.

The bride was given in marriage by her father. Melanie Elizabeth Brooks was maid of honor. Kendra Brown, Tiffany Charles, Courtney Gordon, Michelle Holloway, Courtney Jackson, Stephanie Marshalt Thompson and Hillary Williams were bridesmaids. Chloe Flowers was flower girl. Justin B. Pourciau acted as best man. Groomsmen were Leonard Bell, Geno Brown, James Daugherty, Gavin Morris, Damien Narcisse, Collis Temple and Eric Tyson. Reuben Justice III was ring bearer. A reception was held at the Chattanooga Golf and Country Club. The couple took a wedding trip to Puerto Rico. They reside in Detroit.

Austin Miller was also a member of the bridal party. The reception was held at the Chattanooga Convention Center. The couple took a wedding trip to Montego Bay, Jamaica. They reside in Chattanooga.
