Berns and Botta

John and Joyce Berns of Cleveland, Tenn., announce the engagement of their daughter, Elisabeth Anne Berns, to Brett Michael John Botta, son of Angelo and Pamela Botta of Greeneville, Tenn. The wedding is planned for Saturday, May 30, at Museum Center at Five Points in Cleveland. The future bride is the granddaughter of Marjorie Brucker of Danforth, Ill., the late Clifford Brucker, and the late William and Evelyn Berns of Chebanse, Ill. Ms. Berns received a bachelor’s degree in human ecology from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, where she is pursuing a master’s degree in elementary education. She is a kindergarten teacher with the Hamilton County Department of Education and is a member of St. Therese Catholic Church in Cleveland. The future bridegroom is the grandson of John and Peggy Howe of Greeneville and the late Michael and May Botta of Pequannock, N.J. Mr. Berns is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in middle-grades education from Lee University. He is assistant manager at Finish Line and is a member of St. Therese Catholic Church.

Broer and Parr

Mr. and Mrs. Richard Copley Broer of Collierville, Tenn., announce the engagement of their daughter, Katherine Eleanor Broer, to William Hampton Parr, son of Louise Hampton Daniel of Chattanooga and Dr. William Dean Parr Jr. of Collierville. The wedding is planned for Saturday, April 18, at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Collierville. The future bride is the granddaughter of Milton Turner Schaeffer of Germantown, Tenn., the late Mrs. Schaeffer, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Albert Copley Broer of Grants Pass, Ore. Ms. Broer graduated from St. Mary’s Episcopal School in Memphis and Davidson College. She received a master’s degree in French from Middlebury College. She is employed as a college counselor at Memphis University School. The future bridegroom is the grandson of the late Dr. and Mrs. Foster Thomas Hampton Jr. of Chattanooga, Mrs. William Dean Parr of Collierville and the late Dr. Parr. Mr. Parr graduated from McCallie School and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He received a law degree from the University of Texas School of Law. He is employed as a real estate investor.

Coker and Beck

Mr. and Mrs. Richard Michael Coker of LaFayette, Ga., announce the engagement of their daughter, Lindsey Elizabeth Coker, to Bradley Robert Beck, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Arthur Beck of Arlington, Va. The wedding is planned for Saturday, June 13, at First Baptist Church of LaFayette, where the future bride is a member. The future bride is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Emmett Lee Coker, Barbara Tobin Pope, and the late Luther Hill Pope Jr., all of LaFayette. Ms. Coker graduated from LaFayette High School and received a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education from the University of Georgia. The future bridegroom is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Henry Beck Jr. of Cincinnati and the late Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Joseph Roedig of Covington, Ky. Mr. Beck graduated from Wakefield High School and attended Montgomery Junior College. He was a pitcher for the Los Angeles Angels and played for the minor league organization for four season. He is employed by Black Creek Club.

The engagement of Anna Kathleen Estes and Kenneth William Taylor is announced today. Ms. Estes is the daughter of Frances Estes of Chattanooga and the late Earl Estes. Parents of the prospective bridegroom are Mitch and Therese Taylor of Peachtree City, Ga. The wedding is planned for Saturday, July 18, at The Wedding Chapel. The future bride is the granddaughter of the late R.T. and Kathleen Dabbs. Ms. Estes received a bachelor’s degree in hotel and restaurant management from Auburn University. She is employed in the financial aid department at the University of West Georgia. The future bridegroom is the grandson of William Taylor, the late Ursula Taylor, and Jacob and Lillian Kolleng. Mr. Taylor is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of West Georgia. He is employed as a technician with Rite Aid Pharmacy.

The engagement of Kristy Val Fields and Evan Llewellyn Baird is announced today. Ms. Fields is the daughter of Phoebe Fields. Parents of the prospective bridegroom are the late Llewellyn Baird and Victoria Baird of Brooklyn, N.Y., and the late Llewellyn Baird. The wedding is planned for Saturday, May 23, at Chestnut Hill Estate. The future bride is the granddaughter of the late Glen Smith and Johnnie Phoenix. Ms. Fields received an associate degree in surgical technology from Miller-Motte Technical College. She is a member of New Horizon Baptist Church. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Auburn Job, the late Elvira Job, the late Dolfus Baird and the late Jane Baird. Mr. Baird is pursuing a degree in engineering from Chattanooga State Technical Community College. He is employed by Shaw Industries and is a member of New Horizon Baptist Church.

The future bride is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Earl McKoy of Wilmington, N.C., Dorothy Cater of Beaver Falls, Pa., and the late Wilbur Cater. Ms. McKoy graduated from Tennessee Temple Academy and attended Tennessee Temple University. She is a regional office administrator with Aflac. The future bridegroom is the grandson of the Tinnie Lee Stargel of Alcoa, Tenn., the late B.W. Stargel, the late Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Lee Kelso of Maryville, Tenn. Mr. Stargel graduated from William Blount High School and received a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. He is pursuing a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. He is an electrical engineer with TVA.

The future bridegroom is the grandson of John and Beatrice Parr is Sebring, Fla., and Roman and Lucy Yakimowich of White Lake, Mich. Mr. Yakimowich received a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and a master’s of science from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. He is employed as a traffic engineer and transportation planner. He is a member of the Father’s House at St. Michael’s Cathedral.

Lindy Starling became the bride of Johnny Case on Saturday, March 7, at the BX of Brainerd Baptist Church BX. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Dana Jenkins. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Starling of East Ridge. Parents of the bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. Billy Case, also of East Ridge. Jamie Starling was the honor attendant. Bridesmaids were Kelli Skaggs, Jessica Carson, Heather Prater, Lauren Case and Mandy Englebrecht. Jimmy Case served as best man. Groomsmen were Brandon Slaven, Travis Wright, Craig Chadwich, Bryan Clary and Matthew Graziano. A reception was held at Loose Cannon Art Gallery. The couple took a wedding trip to Jamaica. They reside in Harrison.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles George Rowland Jr. of Signal Mountain. Parents of the bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. Lee Andrew Scroggins Jr. of Atlanta and the late Marion Griffin Scroggins. The bride was given in marriage by her father. Hadley Buchanan Rowland, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Courtney Rowland Valentine and Ashley Rowland Davenport. Flower girls were Emma Susan Davenport, Marion Claire Cole and Darby Reeves Scroggins. Mr. Scroggins served as best man for his son, and Lee Andrew Scroggins III was the groomsman. The ring bearer was Parker Adair Roth. Ushers were William McKenzie Easterlin III, William Roderick Hill Jr., Wilson Moore McGinness and David McKenzie Rumph III. The reader was Tiffany Rowland Roth, sister of the bride. A reception was held at DeBordieu Country Club. The couple took a wedding trip to Costa Rica. They reside in Atlanta.
