Burns and Crahan

Bob and Sandra Burns of Dalton, Ga., announce the engagement of their daughter, Laura Suzzanne Burns, to Marc Kevin Crahan, son of K.C and Becky Crahan of Louisville, Ky. The wedding is planned for Saturday, May 9, at Sea Pines Resort in Hilton Head Island, S.C. The future bride is the granddaughter of Bob Burns of Conyers, Ga., the late Eugenia Burns, and the late Elmer and Laura Wright of Loganville, Ga. Ms. Burns graduated from Girls Preparatory School and received a bachelor’s degree in Spanish from Emory University, where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority. She is senior account executive for Creative Alliance and is a member of First United Methodist Church in Dalton. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Gloria Crahan, the late Jack Crahan, Gloria Smith and the late Robert Smith. Mr. Crahan graduated from St. Xavier School in Louisville and received a bachelor’s degree in history from Emory University. He received a degree of juris doctor from Brandeis School of Law. He is an attorney and is a member of St. Agnes Church.

Dickey and Miller

Hal and Andra Dickey of Hixson announce the engagement of their daughter, Ashley Katherine Dickey, to Jameson Andrew Miller, son of Sherry Miller of Soddy-Daisy and the late Drew Miller. The wedding is planned for Saturday, May 9, at Burks United Methodist Church, where the future bride is a member. The future bride is the granddaughter of Jayne Leach Sorrell of Dyersburg, Tenn., the late Gerald Borden, the late Katherine Dickey, the late Rudolph Dickey and Emma Lou Dickey, all of Covington, Tenn. Ms. Dickey graduated from Soddy-Daisy High School and received a bachelor’s degree in nursing from East Tennessee State University. She is a cardiovascular surgical nurse with Memorial Hospital. The future bridegroom is the grandson of the late C.B. Higdon and the late Barbra Higdon of Etowah, Tenn., the late Fred Miller Jr. and Nancy Painter Miller of Cleveland, Tenn. Mr. Miller graduated from Soddy-Daisy High School and received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity. He is an accountant with Hazlett, Lewis and Bieter and is a member of Soddy United Methodist Church.

Ron and Esther Dyer of Chattanooga announce the engagement of their daughter, Hannah Michelle Dyer, to Caleb Wilson Brewer, son of Tom and Kay Brewer of Fayetteville, Tenn. The wedding is planned for Friday, July 3, at Calvary Baptist Church. The future bride is the granddaughter of Susan Mayo of McDonough, Ga., Pete Mayo of Lineville, Ala., and Edna Dyer of Chattanooga. Ms. Dyer graduated from Tennessee Temple High School and received a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Tennessee Temple University. She is employed as a teacher and attends Calvary Baptist Church. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Christine Sharp and Marie Brewer. Mr. Brewer graduated from Franklin County High School and attended Middle Tennessee State University. He serves in the U.S. Air Force and is a member of Park City Church of Christ.

Mr. and Mrs. Jeffrey McKinley of Ringgold, Ga., announce the engagement of their daughter, Jennifer McKinley, to Matthew Romans, son of Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Romans of LaFayette, Ga. The future bride is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Walker Long of Campbellsville, Ky., Charles McKinley and the late Sue McKinley. Ms. McKinley graduated Ringgold High School. She is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in elementary and early childhood education from Kennesaw State University. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Geraldine Taylor, the late David Taylor of Flintstone, Ga., and Effie Waters of LaFayette. Mr. Romans attended LaFayette High School. He is an ironworker with Taylor Construction.

The future bride is the granddaughter of Gene and Pat Clark and Ben and Sis Plain. Ms. Plain received a degree in health administration from Baptist College of Health Sciences in Memphis. She is a marketing representative with Women’s Health Center and a member of Dallas Bay Baptist Church. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Joe Bryant, the late Ruby “Billie” Bryant and Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Whaley. Mr. Whaley received a medical degree from the University of Tennessee College of Medicine. He is a radiation oncologist and is a member of Covington Church of Christ.

The future bridegroom is the grandson of the late Gene Hinds, Thelma Parsons Hinds, the late Ralph Swearengin and Jane Caldwell Swearengin. Mr. Swearengin is employed by Mayfield Dairy Farms.

The future bridegroom is the grandson of Patricia Fox of Sarasota, the late Thomas Fox, Rosemary Garrison of Henderson, Nev., and the late Harold Garrison. Mr. Garrison graduated from Riverview High School and received a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Stanford University. He is employed in real estate and solar energy.

He is employed as an accountant with Moore, Ingram, Johnson and Steele in Marietta and is a member of Watermarke Community Church.

Laura Jill Henderson became the bride of Paul Luther Ellis II on Saturday, Nov. 29, at White Oak Church of Christ. The ceremony was performed by J.C. Watkins. The bride is the daughter of John and Sandra Henderson of Chattanooga. Parents of the bridegroom are Fred and Charmaine Henderson of Oak Ridge, Tenn., and the late Paul Luther Ellis. The bride was given in marriage by her father. Jennifer Line was maid of honor and Tonya Moore was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Heather Miller, Lakisha Charles, Katie Welch, Dremaine Ellis and Sonda Ellis, sisters of the bridegroom. The flower girls were Makenzey Caldwell and Lily Taylor. Dameon Splawn and William Caldwell II served as best men. Groomsmen were Mark Jolley, Brandon Gibson, Michael Clevenger, Randy Charles, Devante Sales and Shakur Ellis. The ring bearer was Ge’Quan Anderson. A reception was held at the Chattanoogan. The couple took a wedding trip to Jamaica. They reside in Knoxville.

Zoe Nicole Rind became the bride of Dennis Michael Ryan on Saturday, March 21, in New Orleans. The ceremony was performed by Dan Alcalde and Nicole Wallace. The bride is the daughter of Joel and Paula Rind of Signal Mountain. Parents of the bridegroom are James and Lorraine Ryan of Spring Hill, Fla. Bridesmaids were Jill Beck and Rebecca Smyrl. Mark Torres was the bridegroom’s attendant. A reception was held at Begue’s Restaurant. The couple took a wedding trip to Carmel by the Sea, Calif. They reside in Palo Alto, Calif.
