Carter and Shults

Curtis Edward and Ava Carter of Trenton, Ga., announce the engagement of their daughter, Temperance Denise Carter, to Larry Bryan Shults, son of Larry and Paula Shults of Clinton, Tenn. The wedding is planned for Saturday, April 18, at Brainerd Baptist Church, where the couple are members. The future bride is the granddaughter of Phyllis Cosper, the late Ray Cosper, Ruby Carter and the late Curtis Carter, all of Trenton. Ms. Carter received a bachelor’s degree in psychology, a master’s degree in school psychology and an education specialist degree from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. She is employed as a school psychologist. The future bridegroom is the grandson of the late James A. and Pauline Hall of Newport, Tenn., the late W. Ottis and Mary Josephine Shults of Cosby, Tenn. Mr. Shults received a bachelor’s degree in public administration and a master’s degree in planning from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. He is employed as an urban planner.

Fletcher and Sullivan

Craig and Melody Fletcher of Soddy-Daisy announce the engagement of their daughter, Casey J. Fletcher, to Ryan Creed Sullivan, son of Capt. Robert Sullivan and Joan Sullivan of Chattanooga. The wedding is planned for Sunday, April 5, at The Grandview. The future bride is the granddaughter of Joan and Jerry Fletcher and Ralph and Janelle Griffith. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Frances Sullivan. The couple are members of the Church of Catoosa.

Johnson and Zeleznak

Mr. and Mrs. Paul Johnson III of Harrison announce the engagement of their daughter, Ardis Ruth Johnson, to Matthew James Zeleznak, son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Zeleznak of Topeka, Kan. The wedding is planned for Saturday, Aug. 1, at the Fairyland Club. The future bride is the granddaughter of Etta Mae Youmans of Atlanta, the late Lucious A. Youmans, Nancy Johnson of Lookout Mountain and the late Dr. Paul Johnson Jr. Ms. Johnson graduated from Girls Preparatory School and received a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Kansas, where she was a member of Pi Beta Phi Fraternity. She is lead teller at Commerce Bank in Lawrence, Kan., and is a member of Church of the Good Shepherd, Episcopal. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Rose Schwartz of Hoisington, Kan., the late W.D. Schwartz, and Michael and Patricia Zeleznak of Overland Park, Kan. Mr. Zeleznak graduated from Hayden High School in Topeka. He attends the University of Kansas Pharmacy School in Lawrence. He is a pharmacy intern with Shawnee Mission Medical Center and Walgreens and is a member of Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Topeka.

Mr. and Mrs. Rick Roberts of Augusta, Ga., announce the engagement of their daughter, Bethany Brooke Roberts, to Daniel Flay Price, son of Mr. and Mrs. Tim Price of Hixson. The wedding is planned for Saturday, June 20, at Burks United Methodist Church, where the future bridegroom is a member. The future bride is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Craton Roberts and the late Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Noah, all of Chattanooga. Ms. Roberts received a bachelor’s degree in education and a master’s degree from Tennessee Technological University. She is employed by Whitfield County Schools and is a member of ChristWay Community Church. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Thompson of Soddy-Daisy and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Grimm of Hixson. Mr. Price received a bachelor’s degree from Middle Tennessee State University. He is employed by NQP Starch and Chemicals.

Schwartz Jr. of Lookout Mountain, Ga., announce the engagement of their daughter, Anna Atwood Schwartz, to Stephen Maxwell Eady, son of Stephen Eady of Chattanooga and Cher O’Malley of Madison, Ga. The wedding is planned for Saturday, May 30, at First-Centenary United Methodist Church, where the future bride is a member. The future bride is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Weiss of Deland, Fla., and the late Mr. and Mrs. James D. Schwartz Sr. of Princeton, N.J. Ms. Schwartz graduated from Girls Preparatory School and received a bachelor’s degree in human development and family studies from Auburn University. She is a disability benefits specialist with Unum. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Laura Littrell, the late Emmett Littrell and the late Mr. and Mrs. Stephen J. Eady. Mr. Eady graduated from Baylor School and received a bachelor’s degree in business finance from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. He is a real estate appraiser with Eady Appraisal Services.

Stimpson

Megan Lewis Williams became the bride of Alan Webb Stimpson on Sunday, Dec. 21, at Grace Episcopal Church. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Gene Smitherman. The bride is the daughter of Don and Mary-Bacon Williams of East Brainerd. Parents of the bridegroom are Drs. Carol Lent Magnuson and Charles Lee Stimpson of Shelbyville, Tenn. Mae McCallie Cooper was the honor attendant. Bridesmaids were Sophie Johnson Taintor, Lorene Janel Ford and Emily Kate Stimpson, sister of the bridegroom. The flower girl was Emme Williams. Andrew Jay Stimpson served as best man for his brother. Groomsmen were Robert Tully Rohrer, Peter Kinsley Osborn and James Griffith Williams, brother of the bride. A reception was held at the Walden Club. The couple took a wedding trip to Whitefish, Mont. They reside in Bell Buckle, Tenn.

Thompson

Jennifer Brooke Jenkins became the bride of Grant Matthew Thompson on Saturday, Nov. 1, at Christ United Methodist Church. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Mark Flynn and the Rev. Sam Hamby. The bride is the daughter of Curtis and Susan Jenkins of Harrison. Parents of the bridegroom are Ronnie and Carolyn Thompson of Chattanooga. Megan Jenkins, sister of the bride, and Lori Lowe were honor attendants. Bridesmaids were Sara Thompson, sister of the bridegroom, Brandi Holland Anderson, Ashlyn Moore, Tiffany Brumlow and Ashley Johnson. The flower girl was Kaylie Robertson. Mr. Thompson served as best man for his son. Groomsmen were Brandon Allen, Jacob Crawford, Josh Underwood, Brandon Jenkins, Mikie Lowe and Shane Allen. The ring bearer was Gage Allen. A reception was held at Eagle Bluff Clubhouse. The couple took a wedding trip to Jamaica. They reside in East Brainerd.
