Rachel Anne Carter became the bride of David Allen Martin in a ceremony on Saturday, July 4, at the home of the bride’s parents, Ron and Marti Brown. Parents of the bridegroom are Van and Regina Martin of Knoxville. Michael Avery performed the ceremony. Missy Dawson was maid of honor. John Martin served as best man. A reception was held at the Brown’s home. The couple took a wedding trip to Hilton Head Island, S.C. They reside in this city.

Kimberly J. Rousell became the bride of Daniel R. Southerland in a ceremony on Friday, Sept. 25. The Rev. Carl Human performed the ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Robert Saylors and the late Patricia Saylors. Parents of the bridegroom are Bonnie Henderson of Gatlinburg, Tenn., and Randall Southerland. The couple reside in Ringgold, Ga.

Engagement

Basham and Sanderson

The engagement of Maggie Basham and David Sanderson is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of John and Janie Basham. Parents of the future bridegroom are Bobby and Judy Sanderson of Columbus, Miss. The wedding is planned for Saturday, Dec. 19, at First Baptist Church of Columbus, where the future bridegroom is a member. The future bride is the granddaughter of Sybil B. Harmon, the late Ralph E. “Gene” Harmon and Margaret Jane Harmon, the late Chalmer Lacy Basham and Nadine Cage Basham. Miss Basham is a graduate of Rift Valley Academy. She is a member of Hixson First Baptist Church, and is a student at North Greenville University in Greenville, S.C.. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Jim and Amy Sanders, the late Robert J. Sanderson Sr., Glen Womack and the late Dorothy Buntyn Womack. Mr. Sanderson graduated from Heritage Academy, and is a student at North Greenville University.

The engagement of Jennifer Lynn Derryberry and Jarrad Eli Nathaniel Stokes is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John W. Derryberry of Rising Fawn, Ga. Parents of the future bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. Rick L. Stokes of Jasper, Tenn. The wedding is planned for Saturday, Nov. 28, in Chickamauga, Ga. The future bride is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Frazier of High Point, Ga., Ronald Denton of Chickamauga, Barbara Derryberry of Rising Fawn, and the late Jack Derryberry. Miss Derryberry is a graduate of Ridgeland High School. She is pursuing an associate’s degree from Miller Motte Technical College. She attends New Lookout Baptist Church in Rising Fawn. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Mary Ellen Long, the late Ernest Long, and Mr. and Mrs. William Stokes, all of Whitwell, Tenn. Mr. Stokes is a graduate of Marion County High School. He received a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. He is a member of Kimball Church of Christ, and is a graduate student at Cumberland University.

The engagement of Amanda Michelle Jones and Jonathon Parker Ellis is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Randall and Sue Jones of Paris, Tenn. Parents of the future bridegroom are Gary and GiGi Ellis. The wedding is planned for Saturday, Nov. 28, at First Baptist Church in Paris. The future bride is the granddaughter of Barbara Sparks of Clearwater, Fla., Billy and Juanita Jones of Paris, and the late Jack and Jerelene Bach. Miss Jones is a graduate of Henry County High School. She received a bachelor’s degree in public relations and marketing from Union University, where she was a member of Chi Omega Sorority. She is a member of West Jackson Baptist Church in Jackson, Tenn., and is employed as a public relations account manager for NASCAR driver Martin Truex Jr. and MTJ Motorsports. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Margaret Burchfield of Oneida, Tenn., Ruby Ellis, the late Willie Ellis, and the late Hurstle and Della Stephens. Mr. Ellis is a graduate of Soddy-Daisy High School. He is a member of Middle Valley Baptist Church, and is employed as a mechanic for NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Team Phoenix Racing.

The engagement of Heather Shannon Adams and Timothy D. Roark is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of H. Curtis Adams Jr. and Linda Adams of Dalton, Ga. Parents of the future bridegroom are Charles and Patricia Roark of Chickamauga, Ga. The wedding is planned for Saturday, Nov. 21, at Grace Presbyterian Church in Dalton, where the bride-elect is a member. The future bride is the granddaughter of Howard Adams of Paris, Ky., the late Lorene Adams, and the late Willard and Ann Soderlund. Miss Adams is a graduate of Dalton High School. She received a bachelor’s degree from Eastern Kentucky University, and a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction from Central Michigan University. She is a teacher at Valley Point Middle School in Dalton. The future bridegroom is the grandson of the late Deed and Ruby Parrish, and the late Tom and Irene Roark. Mr. Roark is a graduate of Chattanooga Valley High School. He is a member of Lookout Baptist Church in Chickamauga, and is employed as a help desk integration specialist by Shaw Industries.

Miss Shelton received a bachelor’s degree in child and family studies from Freed-Hardemen University. She is a preschool teacher at Schools In Schools Out Learning Center. The future bridegroom is the grandson of the late John and Dot Robinson and the late J.C. and Frances Clements. Mr. Robinson received a bachelor’s degree in speech communication from the University of Georgia. He is employed by Unum.

The bride is the daughter of Donald Lanier and the late Debbie Lanier. The bridegroom is the son of Connie Webb of Crandall, Texas. April Totherow was matron of honor. Winter Baker was the bridesmaid. Emma Baker was flower girl. Gerald Webb served as best man. Jon Totherow was groomsman. A reception was held at Balmoral Garden at Sandals Royal Caribbean. After a honeymoon in Montego Bay, the couple reside in Forney, Texas.

Kristen Clounch was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Courtney Allen, Jessica Boehm, Jennifer Clark, Jennifer Galloway, Jill Kirby, Heather McDivitt, Natalie McMaster, Jennifer Sullivan and Miranda Travers. Mr. Burrows served his son as best man. Groomsmen were Brett Clayton, Tim Clounch, Jason Freeman, Scott Funderburg, Keith Galloway, Toby Headrick, Jamie Reese, Matthew Schmitz and Casey Willis. A reception was held at The Mill. The couple took a wedding trip to Cancun, Mexico. They reside in this city.
