The engagement of Misty Nicole Bates and Tyler Lee Brown is announced today. The future bride is the daughter Michael Bowman of Ringgold, Ga., and Pamela Bowman of Flintstone, Ga. Parents of the future bridegroom are Michael and Vicki Brown of Cleveland, Tenn. The wedding is planned for Saturday, May 1, at The Woolen Mills in Cleveland. The future bride is the granddaughter of Helen Bowman, the late Junior Bowman, Bill Sisk of Flintstone and the late Colleen Sisk. Miss Bates is a graduate of Chattanooga State Community College. She is employed as a compensation analyst in human resources. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Drusilla Burgar of Cleveland, the late Art Burgar and the late Mr. and Mrs. Aubrey Brown. Mr. Brown is a graduate of Tennessee Technology Center. He is employed as a tool and die maker.

The engagement of Haley Elizabeth May and David Curtis Shelton is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Jeffrey and Sandi May. Parents of the future bridegroom are Curtis and Darlene Shelton. The wedding is planned for Saturday, June 5, at Burkes United Methodist Church. The future bride is the granddaughter of Jim and Phyllis Corriher, Yvonne Corriher, Eddie and Jean Rievley and Ronnie May. Miss May is a graduate of Soddy-Daisy High School, and is a nursing student at Chattanooga State Community College. She is a member of Sawyer Missionary Baptist Church, and is a teacher at Kids R Kids Learning Center. The future bridegroom is the grandson of David and Shirley Shelton. Mr. Shelton is a graduate of Sequoyah High School. He is a member of Sawyer Missionary Baptist Church, and is employed by Dalrymple Rigging.

Shelley and Brian Edward Ford

Dr. and Mrs. Billie Edgar Shelley Jr. of Conway, S.C., announce the engagement of their daughter, Sarah Bland Shelley, to Brian Edward Ford, son of Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Edward Ford Jr. of Wildwood, Ga. The wedding is planned for Saturday, June 5, at First Presbyterian Church in Myrtle Beach, S.C., where the bride-elect is a member. The future bride is the granddaughter of Mrs. Jack LaGrone Bland of Pawleys Island, S.C., the late Mr. Bland, Billie Edgar Shelley of Spartanburg, S.C., and the late Peggy Spencer Shelley. Miss Shelley received a bachelor’s degree in finance from Wofford College, where she was a member of Kappa Delta Sorority. She is employed as a project manager of global business development by the South Carolina Department of Commerce in Columbia. The future bridegroom is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Edward “Jack” Ford, the late Mrs. Robert Pierce Greely, and Charles Eugene Bush Sr. of Fabens, Texas. Mr. Ford received a bachelor’s degree in finance from Wofford College, where he was a member of Kappa Alpha Fraternity. He is a member of Wildwood United Methodist Church, and is pursuing a master’s degree in accounting at Darla Moore School of Business at the University of South Carolina.

The engagement of Angela Sabrina Underdown and John Jefferson Seymour III is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Doug Fallin of St. Augustine, Fla. Mr. Seymour received a bachelor’s degree in computer science from LaGrange College. He is employed as a quality assurance tech by Quiktrip Kitchens.

Lori Renae Prichard became the bride of Jared Wilson Cracraft in a ceremony on Saturday, Nov. 7, at First Presbyterian Church in Florence, Ala. The Rev. Richard Gillespie performed the ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jackie L. Prichard. Parents of the bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. Morris W. Cracraft of Florence. Darla York Prichard was matron of honor. Mr. Cracraft served his son as best man. A reception was held at Turtle Point Yacht and Country Club in Florence. After a wedding trip to the Biltmore in Asheville, N.C., the couple reside in Birmingham, Ala.
