Bonnie Marie Baggett became the bride of Andrew Martin Pierce in a ceremony on Monday, Jan.11, on the Carnival Destiny cruise ship. The Rev. Cynthia Dodd performed the ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Tom and Kathy Baggett. Parents of the bridegroom are Ernest Pierce and Norma Taylor. After a Caribbean cruise, the couple reside in East Ridge.

Blatt and Carter

The engagement of Tara Love Blatt and Allen Foster Carter is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Dale Blatt of Key West, Fla. Parents of the future bridegroom are Dr. and Mrs. Wayne Elliott Tipps, and the late Allen Humphreys Carter. The wedding is planned for Saturday, April 10, at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Key West. The future bride is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Reuel Brooks Atkinson and the late Mr. and Mrs. Abraham Blatt. Miss Blatt received a bachelor’s degree in studio arts from Florida State University. She is account manager with Athens Insurance. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Katie Sue Foster of Columbia, Tenn., the late Robert Allen Foster, the late Leonard Allen Carter, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Tom Sherman. Mr. Carter received a bachelor’s degree in business finance from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. He is the owner of Athens Insurance.

Borowik and Tuel

The engagement of Kristy Borowik and Keelan Tuel is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of John and Judy Borowik of Hardwick, Mass. Parents of the future bridegroom are Darrell and Sandra Tuel of Cedar Park,Texas. The wedding is planned for Sunday, June 20, in Holyoke, Mass. Miss Borowik received bachelor’s degrees in English and journalism from Southern Adventist University. She is a member of First Springfield Seventh-day Adventist Church, and is employed as a technical writer. Mr. Tuel received a bachelor’s degree in computer science and a master’s degree in health-care administration from Southern Adventist University. He is a member of Collegedale Community Seventh-day Adventist Church, and is employed as a computer programmer.

Coleman and Godwin

The engagement of Wendy Irene Coleman and Jason Todd Godwin is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Alvin and Nellie Coleman of Chickamauga, Ga. Parents of the future bridegroom are Geneva Godwin of Ringgold, Ga., and the late Carroll Godwin. The wedding is planned for Saturday, April 17, at the Gordon Lee Mansion in Chickamauga. Miss Coleman received an associate’s degree in health information management from Chattanooga State Community College. She is a member of the Church of the Nazarene, and is employed as a registered health information technician and medical coder by Aeropek. Mr. Godwin is a graduate of Ringgold High School. He is a member of Ringgold First Baptist Church, and is serving in the United States Marine Corps.

The future bridegroom is the grandson of Thomas and Rita Beal, Ann Atherton and the late Dudley Atherton. Mr. Atherton is a homeschool graduate. He is a student at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, where he is a member of Theta Tau Fraternity. He is a member of Oakwood Baptist Church.

The future bride is the granddaughter of Betty L. Wilson of Memphis, Tenn., the late William Douglas Wilson, and the late Mr. and Mrs. John Henry O’Neal. Miss O’Neal is a graduate of Notre Dame High School. She received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in business administration from Florida A&M University. She is a member of River of Life Christian Center in Orlando, Fla. She is employed as a pharmaceutical representative by Pfizer, and is owner of Eye Candy Buy Candy Boutique. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Ola Belle Benson of Omaha, Neb., the late James Drue Benson, the late Hazel Cromwell and the late Ambrose Cromwell. Mr. Benson is a graduate of Pope High School. He received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Georgia Southern University. He is a member of Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Roswell, Ga., and is employed by JC Penney in New Orleans.
