Baker and Pollard

The engagement of Kari Kristine Baker and Matthew Shane Pollard is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Marilyn R. Baker and the late Rush E. Baker III. Parents of the future bridegroom are Sandra Pollard and Rick and Pam Pollard. A private wedding is planned for Saturday, March 6, in the Maldives.

Breeze and Moore

The engagement of Jordan Leigh Breeze and Joshua Aaron Moore is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Vic and Deb Breeze of Mattoon, Ill. Parents of the future bridegroom are Steve and Connie Moore of Milan, Tenn. The wedding is planned for Saturday, June 5, at First Baptist Church in Mattoon. Miss Breeze is a graduate of Mattoon High School. She received an associate’s degree in pre-nursing from Lake Land College, and is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in nursing at Southern Illinois University. Mr. Moore graduated from Tennessee Temple Academy, Tennessee Temple University and Carson-Newman College. He is pastor of Dumplin Baptist Church.

Gammon and Witham

The engagement of Morgan Elizabeth Gammon and Robert Morgan Witham is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Pete and Mott Gammon. Parents of the future bridegroom are Jan and Dave Conley of Lexington, Ky., and Frank Witham of Stanton, Ky. A March wedding is planned at Signal Mountain Presbyterian Church, where the bride-elect is a member. The future bride is the granddaughter of Myra Lewis. Miss Gammon received a bachelor’s degree in economics, cum laude, from Vanderbilt University, where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority. She is employed as an investment banking associate by Harris Williams & Co. Mr. Witham received a bachelor’s degree in agricultural econonics from the University of Kentucky. He is a commissioned officer in the United States Army Reserve, and is employed as a patient services manager by ARAMARK.

Hutchinson and Smith

The engagement of Alicia Darlene Hutchinson and Micheal Davadrian Smith is anounced today. The future bride is the daughter of Cheryl D. Hutchinson and Virgil L. Hutchinson Sr. of Lumberton, N.C. Parents of the future bridegroom are Cheryl R. Jennings of Powder Springs, Ga., and Micheal A. Smith. The wedding is planned for Saturday, March 27, at Prospect Baptist Church, where the bride-elect is a member. The future bride is the granddaughter of Sydney Hutchinson Sr., the late Willie Pearl Hutchinson, and the late Edna L. Kahn and Jerome S. Kahn. Miss Hutchinson is a graduate of Chattanooga School for the Arts and Sciences. She received a bachelor’s degree in family and children’s services from Berea College and a master’s degree in social work from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. She is employed as a social worker. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Joreth Smith, the late Clifford Smith, Marlene Chaney and the late Dock Chaney. Mr. Smith is a graduate of Brainerd High School. He received a bachelor’s degree in business marketing from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. He is a member of the Church of Christ.

The engagement of Katherine Darlene Merchoff and Kenneth Farrell Morgan Jr. is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of David and Gretchen Merchoff. Parents of the future bridegroom are Kenneth and Connie Morgan. The wedding is planned for Saturday, May 29, at Cross of Calvary Community Church, where both are members. The future bride is the granddaughter of Jim and Rose Merchoff of Chicago, and the late Warren and Hazel Penney. Miss Merchoff is a graduate of Hixson High School. She is pursuing a degree in child and family studies from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. She is a teacher at Primrose School. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Tom and Mary Ann Morgan and Ronnie and Mildred Smith. Mr. Morgan is a graduate of Soddy-Daisy High School. He received a bachelor’s degree in marketing from UTC. He is employed as an art director by AREA203 Marketing.

The engagement of Julie Lynne Plumlee and Brian Patrick Chase is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of John and Patricia Plumlee. She is a member of Hixson First Baptist Church, and is employed as a chiropractor’s assistant by Natural Solutions Wellness Chiropractic. The future bridegroom is the grandson of John P. and Orpha Hudson, Terry Chase and the late Chadwick Chase. Mr. Chase is a graduate of Hixson High School. He received a bachelor’s degree in nuclear engineering from UTK, where he was a member of Phi Sigma Kappa Fraternity. He is employed as a mechanical engineer by Sargent & Lundy LLC.

Wallace and Perdomo

The engagement of Natalie Bradford Wallace and Peter Michael Perdomo is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Bill and Cissy Wallace. Parents of the future bridegroom are Peter and Mary Perdomo of Anderson, S.C., and David and Cynthia McKenna of Roswell, Ga. The wedding is planned for Saturday, May 8, at The Cloister Chapel in Sea Island, Ga. The future bride is the granddaughter of Joe and Alice Bradford of Sea Island, Winifred Wallace of Roswell, and the late Charles Wallace. Miss Wallace is a graduate of Girls Preparatory School. She received a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of the South. She was also presented at the Cotton Ball. She is employed as an investment associate by SunTrust Investment Services Inc. in Atlanta. The future bridegroom is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Hugh M. Roberts, Daisy Perdomo of Miami, Fla., and the late Joseph Perdomo. Mr. Perdomo graduated from Wheeler High School in Marietta, Ga. He attended the University of Georgia, where he was a member of Sigma Epsilon Fraternity, and received his bachelor’s degree in finance from Georgia State University. He is employed as a financial products wholesaler by One America in Atlanta.

Wedding

Newton

Kimberly Anne McConnell became the bride of Justin Roy Newton in a ceremony on Saturday, Oct. 10, at Ridgedale Baptist Church. The Rev. Bill Owens performed the ceremony. The bride is the daughter of James McConnell of Beaufort, S.C., and Karen Ingle. Parents of the bridegroom are Roy Newton of Ringgold, Ga., and Vicki Miller. Sally Fountain was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Breanne Fulson, Nikki Newton, Brandy Brown, Mandy Wall and Amy Wall. Molly McConnell, sister of the bride, was the flower girl. Mr. Newton served his son as best man. Groomsmen were Cody Potter, Lee Revels, Tim Fish, Darren Boehm and Rick Miller. Tucker McConnell, brother of the bride, was ring bearer. A reception was held at Bessie Smith Cultural Center. The couple took a wedding trip to Jamaica. They reside in East Ridge.
