The engagement of Maggie Barys and Darrin Evans is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Paul and Sarah Barys. Parents of the future bridegroom are Dennis Evans of Cleveland, Tenn., and Cheryl Evans. The wedding is planned for Saturday, May 14, in Rossville, Ga. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Edmund Barys of Wilmette, Ill., the late Betty Barys, and the late Virginia and Donald Bainbridge Sr. Miss Barys is a graduate of Red Bank High School. She is working on a master’s degree in social work at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. She is a member of Abba’s House and is a case manager with the State of Tennessee, Department of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Shirley Wilson, Harlan Ratcliff and the late Barbara and Cotton Evans. Mr. Evans is a graduate of Cleveland High School. He is a member of Abba’s House and is employed by Coker Tire.

The engagement of Lauren Nicole Daffron and Randall Duane Craig Jr. is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Susan Teresa Daffron and David Dwayne Daffron of Summerville, Ga. Parents of the future bridegroom are Catherine Leigh Gilley of Summerville and Randall Duane Craig Sr. of Bushnell, Fla. The wedding is planned for Saturday, August 13, at Summerville Pentecostal Church. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bud Sumner of Menlo, Ga., Mr. and Mrs. Robert P. Robinson of Summerville and Mr. and Mrs. Pat Daffron of Crestview, Fla. Miss Daffron is a student at Trion High School. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Dorothy Craig of Center Hill, Fla. Mr. Craig is working on a degree in accounting at Northwestern Technical College. He is employed by Mount Vernon Mills.

Mr. Totherow graduated from Mumford (Tenn.) High School and attended Chattanooga State Community College. He is employed by Volkswagen Group of Chattanooga.

Mr. Worland is a graduate of McCallie School. He is working on a degree in environmental biology from Georgia College and State University, where he is a member of Alpha Lambda Delta Fraternity and Betta Betta Betta biological honor society.

Mr. Goff received bachelor’s degrees in biology and chemistry from the University of South Carolina, and a master’s degree in biotechnology from Johns Hopkins University. He is a member of Blaney Baptist Church in Elgin. He is a science teacher and wrestling coach.

Tyler Clinton Thurston became the bride of William Andrew Arthur Jeffrey in a ceremony on Saturday, March 5, at St. Pauls Episcopal Church. The Rev. Dr. Donald A. Fishburne performed the ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Emily and Jerry Thurston. Parents of the bridegroom are Mary and Andrew Jeffrey of Marion, Mass. Lyndsay Thurston Botts was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Kara Kathryn Werner, Courtney Gray Donley, Brantley Farron Bass, Meg Jeffrey Brown, Dr. Wendy Ann Oakes, Amanda Lauren Nestlehutt and Maggie Prugh McCallie. Mr. Jeffrey served his son as best man. Groomsmen were Jeffrey Michael Thurston, John Todd Baker, Donald William Kuhlman, Adam Robinson Lufkin, Kevin James Botts, Peter Alex Brown and Michael Lane McCallie. A reception was held at the Sheraton Read House. The couple took a wedding trip to the Turks and Caicos Islands in the Caribbean. They reside in this city.

Parents of the bridegroom are Robert Lynn Walters Sr. of Concord, Tenn., and Phyllis Renee Walters of Knoxville. A dinner was held at Top Chef Rick Moonen Seafood Restaurant. The couple took a wedding trip to the Midwest. They reside in this city.
