Dixon and Sexton

The engagement of Kelly Lee Dixon and William Shane Sexton is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Sandra Dixon and the late David Dixon. Parents of the future bridegroom are William Gerald Sexton and Donna Sexton of Sevierville, Tenn. The wedding is planned for Saturday, Sept. 3, at the Hyatt Regency in Savannah, Ga. Miss Dixon is a graduate of Hixson High School. She received a bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. She is a member of Hixson United Methodist Church and is employed as an occupational therapist by Alexian Brothers PACE program. Mr. Sexton graduated from Soddy-Daisy High School and attended UTC. He is a member of Hixson United Methodist Church and is employed as a senior network engineer at the Electric Power Board.

Gibson and Buckley

The engagement of Ashleigh Rachele Gibson and William Arthur Buckley III is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Russell and Rachele Gibson of Van Buren, Ark. Parents of the future bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. William A. Buckley Jr. of Athens, Tenn. The wedding is planned for Saturday, Sept. 10, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Memphis, where both are members. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Shoemake of Pocola, Okla., Barbara Gibson of Fort Smith, Ark., and the late William J. Gibson. Miss Gibson is a graduate of Southside High School. She received a bachelor’s degree in political science and a juris doctorate from the University of Arkansas. She is an attorney. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Don Guthrie of Calhoun, Tenn., and the late Mr. and Mrs. William A. Buckley. Mr. Buckley is a graduate of McMinn High School. He received a bachelor’s degree in English from Xavier University and juris doctorate from the University of Arkansas. He is an attorney.

The engagement of Miranda Kay Moorer and Michael Anthony Lovelace is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Tina Goins and the late Hezekiah Moorer. Parents of the future bridegroom are Patricia Malone-Lovelace and James Lovelace. The wedding is planned for Saturday, Sept. 3, at First Christian Church. Miss Moorer is a graduate of Howard School of Academics and Technology. She received a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. She is assistant property manager for Pennrose Property Management Co. Mr. Lovelace is a graduate of East Ridge High School. He received an associate’s degree in accounting from Chattanooga State Community College. He is a member of Rock Island Baptist Church and is employed as a service manager at Fedex.

The engagement of Truc Nguyen and Lewis Leon Goss II is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Phan Nguyen and Hong Vo of Knoxville. Parents of the future bridegroom are Lewis and Sherrye Goss. The wedding is planned for Sunday, Sept. 4, at El Dorado Royale in Riviera Mayan, Mexico. Miss Nguyen received a bachelor’s degree in exercise science from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, where she was a member of Lambda Theta Alpha Sorority, and a bachelor of fine arts degree from International Academy and Design Technology. She is a visual key holder with H&M Clothier in Dallas. Mr. Goss received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from UTK and a doctorate of juris prudence from George Washington University. He is an attorney with Patton Boggs in Dallas.

The engagement of Blaes Marie Schmissrauter and Matthew Peter Green is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Kurt Albert and Julie Blaes Schmissrauter. Parents of the future bridegroom are Peter Mallette and Mary Matthias Green of Harrisonburg, Va. The wedding is planned for Saturday, Sept. 3, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, where the bride-elect is a member. The future bride is the granddaughter of the late Joseph Albert and Virginia Milam Schmissrauter, Eugene John Blaes and the late Joan Carmen Blaes. Miss Schmissrauter is a graduate of Girls Preparatory School. She received a bachelor’s degree in English from Birmingham Southern College, where she was a member of Alpha Chi Omega Sorority, and a master’s degree in English from Tennessee Technological University. She is a teacher at St. Peter’s Episcopal School. The future bridegroom is the grandson of the late George Edwin Matthias Jr., the late Dora Sleeper Matthias, the late Joseph Hugh Green Jr. and the late Leonora Combs Green. Mr. Green is a graduate of Cheltenham High School. He received a bachelor’s degree in arts history from Colgate University, where he was a member of Kappa Delta Rho Fraternity, and a master’s degree in athletic administration from James Madison University. He is owner and director of performance at Fury Performance Training.

She received a medical degree from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. She is a resident in general surgery at the University of Maryland Medical Center. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Dorothy A. Oden and Edward Haynes of Franklin, and Mr. and Mrs. Edward Newsom of Dixon, Tenn. Mr. Haynes received a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Vanderbilt University. He is employed with Brasfield and Gorrie General Contractors in Nashville.
