Phillips and Cogdill

Courtney Sloane Phillips became the bride of James Richard Cogdill in a ceremony on Saturday, May 28, in Destin, Fla. Dr. Joel Huffstetler performed the ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Max Phillips of Cleveland, Tenn. Parents of the bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. Charles Cogdill of Cleveland. Tiffany Taylor was maid of honor. Mr. Cogdill served his son as best man. A reception was held at Bayside at Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort. After a wedding trip to Playa Del Carmen, Mexico, the couple resides in Knoxville.

The engagement of Tiffany Nicole Boran and Patrick Jerome Simerley is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Rebecca Molnar of Houston, Terxas, and the late Robert D. Boran. Parents of the future bridegroom are Debbie and Troy Simerley Jr. of Chickamauga, Ga. The wedding is planned for Saturday, Sept. 10, at Chattanooga Golf and Country Club. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Jim and Linda Molnar of Wellsburg, W.Va., and Paul and Carolyn Boran of Ringgold, Ga Miss Boran is a graduate of Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe High School. She received an associate’s degree in nursing from Northwestern Technical College. She is a registered nurse at Siskin Hospital for Physical Rehabilitation. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Thelma and Troy Simerley Sr. and Jerry and Pat Bowman, all of Chickamauga. Mr. Simerley is a graduate of Ridgeland High School. He is employed by Walker County Water.

He is a member of First Presbyterian Church and is a certified public accountant with PricewaterhouseCoopers in Birmingham.

The engagement of Marguerite Mary “Meg” Johnstone and David Edward Lowe is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Michael and Carol Johnstone of Charlotte, N.C. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Marguerite Johnstone of Leesburg, Fla., the late Thomas Johnstone, Richard Leavitt of Cheshire, Conn., and the late Mary Leavitt. Miss Johnstone is a graduate of Charlotte Catholic High School. She received a bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and a master’s degree from the University of Virginia. She is content director at Hanover Research. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Dorothy Epperson of Arkadelphia, Ariz., the late Woodrow Epperson, and the late Guy and Jean Lowe. Mr. Lowe is a graduate of Red Bank High School. He received a bachelor’s degree from the University of the South. He is pursuing a PhD at the University of Virginia in the department of microbiology, immunology and cancer biology.

Mr. Bishop graduated from Jackson Hole High School, and attended Montana State University. He is a journeyman electrician with Mountain Electrical Co. in Jackson.
