Andersen and Ward

The engagement of Sarah Elizabeth Andersen and Timothy Lawrence Ward is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Philip Scott Andersen of Dalton, Ga. The future bridegroom is the son of Helen Nicholas of Rossville, Ga. The wedding is planned for Saturday, April 30, at First Baptist Church in Dalton. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Lorene Wells of Dalton, the late Walter and Marjorie Andersen, and the late Willard Wells. Miss Andersen received a bachelor's degree in kinesiology from the University of Georgia and a doctorate of physical therapy from the Medical College of Georgia. She is a physical therapist at Memorial Hospital. The future bridegroom is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Henry Ward. Mr. Ward received a degree in business administration from Bryan College. He is employed as a financial consultant by Tennessee Valley Federal Credit Union.

Salsbury and Hughes

The engagement of Rebekah Salsbury and Bo Hughes is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Lawrence and Sandra Salsbury of Sweetwater, Tenn. Parents of the future bridegroom are Allen and Susan Hughes of McDonald, Tenn. The wedding is planned for Sunday, May 29, at Bluff View Art District. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Bill and Bernice Bibee of Sweetwater, Gerry and Jean Salsbury of Ocala, Fla., and Elton and Barbra Whitehead of Bushnell, Fla. Miss Salsbury received a bachelor's degree in studio art and is pursuing a master's degree in clinical mental health counseling at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Bob and Betty Hughes, Betty Morse and the late Joe Morse. Mr. Hughes received a bachelor's degree in marketing and management from East Tennessee State University.

The engagement of Serena Marie Ballard and Jordan Samuel Lucas is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Randy and Linda Ballard. Parents of the future bridegroom are Jan Benecke and the late Scott Lucas. The wedding is planned for Saturday, April 2, in Patten Chapel on the campus of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Paul D. Bryan of Stockbridge, Ga., the late Janet Bryan, the late Charlie Ballard and the late Rena Ballard. Miss Ballard received a bachelor's degree in finance and general management from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. She is a member of Dallas Bay Baptist Church and is employed as an account manager by a local printing company. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Sam and Barbara Acuff and William and Ramona Lucas. Mr. Lucas received a bachelor's degree in marketing and entrepreneurship from UTC, where he was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity. He is a member of Dallas Bay Baptist Church and is employed as a lead generation representative by a local marketing company.

Joujan and Mertens

The engagement of Helen Kay Joujan and Marian Claudius Mertens is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Louis and Janet Hicks Milanesi of Newbury, N.H. Parents of the future bridegroom are Erich and Dorothea Mertens of Aidlingen, Germany. The wedding is planned for Saturday, Aug. 6, in Herrenberg, Germany. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles W. Hicks. Miss Joujan is a graduate of Girls Preparatory School. She received a bachelor's degree in English from Rhodes College and a master's degree in bilingual education from the University of Education in Freiburg, Germany. She is a member of First Presbyterian Church and is a teacher. Mr. Mertens received a bachelor's degree in French from Rhodes College and a master's degree in bilingual education from the University of Education in Freiburg. He is a teacher.

The engagement of Ashley Raith Stockett and Zachary Page Hurst is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Andrew Stockett. Parents of the future bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. Mark Sluder Hurst of Banner Elk, N.C. The wedding is planned for Saturday, April 2, at Our Lady of the Mount Catholic Church. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Kane McLellan of Oldsmar, Fla., and the late Mr. and Mrs. Noble Clayton Stockett Jr. Miss Stockett is a graduate of Baylor School. She received a bachelor's degree in journalism, magna cum laude, from the University of Georgia, where she was a member of Pi Beta Phi Sorority. She is a member of St. Peter's Capitol Hill and is employed as a digital strategist by Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide in Washington, D.C. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Garnett Greear of Gastonia, N.C., and the late Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Sluder Hurst. Mr. Hurst is a graduate of Watauga High School. He received a bachelor's degree in sport management from Western Carolina University, and a master's degree in sport management from the University of Georgia. He is assistant athletic director at the United States Military Academy in West Point, N.Y.
