Engagement

Owens and Staub

The engagement of Milner Benedict Owens and Joseph Martin Staub is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Rhett Owens of Birmingham, Ala. Parents of the future bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. James Paul Staub of Chickamauga, Ga. A January wedding is planned at the Cathedral Church of the Advent in Birmingham. Miss Owens received degrees in Spanish, biochemistry and molecular biology, summa cum laude from the University of Georgia, where she was a member of Phi Mu Sorority. She was presented in the 2008 Heritage Ball. She attends the University of Alabama School of Medicine. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Francis Staub of Rochester, N.Y., and the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Houston Jewell Jr. Mr. Staub is a graduate of McCallie School. He received degrees in international affairs and African studies from the University of Georgia, where he was a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity. He attends Cumberland School of Law.

Engagement

Thurston and Jeffrey

The engagement of Tyler Clinton Thurston and William Andrew Arthur Jeffrey is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Jerry and Emily Thurston. Parents of the future bridegroom are Andrew and Mary Jeffrey of Marion, Mass. The wedding is planned for Saturday, March 5, at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, where both are members. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Jessie M. Clinton, the late George S. Clinton Sr. and the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles H. Thurston. Miss Thurston graduated from Girls Preparatory School. She received a bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, where she was a member of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority. She received a bachelor's degree in operational meteorology and is pursuing a master's degree in geosciences from Mississippi State University. She was presented in the 2003 Cotton Ball. She is employed with Hamilton County Schools. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Agnes Doody of Providence, R.I., and the late Mr. and Mrs. John C. Prugh. Mr. Jeffrey is a graduate of Old Rochester Regional High School. He received a bachelor's degree in economics from UTK, where he was a member of Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity. He is employed as a financial adviser by Northwestern Mutual.

Woodall and Hewitt

The engagement of Chelsie Susanne Woodall and Jeffery Scott Hewitt is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Gary and Susan Woodall. Parents of the future bridegroom are John Deidria Hewitt. The wedding is planned for Saturday, Jan. 8, at Camp Dixie in Soddy-Daisy. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Don Brock, and Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Paschall of Morganton, N.C. Miss Woodall is a graduate of Central High School and is a member of East Ridge Baptist Church. The future bridegroom is the grandson of David and Judy Bacastow and the late Thomas Griffith. Mr. Hewitt is a graduate of East Ridge High School. He is a member of East Ridge Baptist Church, and is employed by AA Glass Co.
