Freeman and Griffin

Sandra Freeman became the bride of Adam Griffin in a ceremony on Saturday, May 7, at Dallas Bay Baptist Church Northgate campus. The Rev. David McNabb performed the ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Freeman. Parents of the bridegroom are Diane Griffin and Dennis Griffin. Shay Freeman was maid of honor. Mitzi Freeman and Cristi Roberts were bridesmaids. Faith Griffin was the flower girl. Eric Shadden served as best man. Groomsmen were Scott Freeman and Cody Sunderland. Braxton Laney was ringbearer. A reception was held at the church. The couple took a wedding trip to Gatlinburg, Tenn. They reside in this city.

Christian and Groves

The engagement of Elizabeth Marshall Christian and Hunter McDonald Groves is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Frances Christian of Madison, Miss., and the late Rev. Dr. David Christian. Parents of the future bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. Harry Groves. The wedding is planned for Saturday, June 11, in All Saints’ Chapel on the campus of the University of the South at Sewanee. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles David Christian of Meridian, Miss., and Mr. and Mrs. John Harsh of Mountain Brook, Ala. Miss Christian received a bachelor’s degree in religion from the University of the South, and a master’s degree in theological studies from Harvard Divinity School. She is employed by the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Evers of Nashville, and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Groves. Mr. Groves is a graduate of McCallie School. He received a bachelor’s degree in philosophy from the University of the South, and a master’s degree in information technology from Harvard University. He is employed as a systems analyst by Hospital Corporation of America.

Davenport and Smith

The engagement of Abbey Elaine Davenport and Mark Daniel Smith is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Darrell and Charlotte Davenport. Parents of the future bridegroom are Martin and Sherry Smith. The wedding is planned for Saturday, Oct. 8, at Stuart Heights Baptist Church, where both are members. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Colleen Davis. Miss Davenport is pursuing a degree in early childhood education at Chattanooga State Community College. She is a pre-school teacher. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Nancy Leever of Fort Oglethorpe, Bill and Pat Allen of Ringgold, Ga., June Frost and Carolyn Smith. Mr. Smith is working on a bachelor’s degree in web design at Tennessee Technological University, where he is a member of Phi Kappa Phi Fraternity. He is employed as a programmer/analyst.

The engagement of Laura Anne Rose DeMichelis and David Ethan Maretich is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Bernard and Ramona DeMichelis of Aurora, Colo. Parents of the future bridegroom are John and Sheila Maretich of Ringgold, Ga. The wedding is planned for Saturday, Aug. 27, at The Peachtree Club in Atlanta. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Gwendolyn Fogelman of Aurora and Alice DeMichelis of Globe-Miami, Ariz. Miss DeMichelis received a bachelor’s degree in public policy from Georgia Institute of Technology, and a doctor of jurisprudence from Howard University of School of Law. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Ruth Graham of Ringgold, and Jeanette Maretich of Marietta, Ga. Mr. Maretich received a bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology. Mr. Dance received a bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. He is a member of United Church of God, and is a certified accountant.

The future bridegroom is the grandson of the late Leonard Thomas Shepherd. Mr. Shepherd received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Kennesaw State University. He is a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, and is college admissions manager at Hallmark College of Aeronautics in San Antonio.
