Daniel and Ezell

The engagement of Sarah Emily Daniel and Jeffrey Coleman Ezell is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Phillip Daniel. Parents of the future bridegroom are William Edgar Ezell III of Mobile, Ala., and Lucianne Wilt of Nashville. The wedding is planned for Saturday, Sept. 10, at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Easton Daniel and the late Dr. and Mrs. Arthur Roy Moss. Miss Daniel is a graduate of Baylor School. She received a bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture from the University of Georgia, where she was a member of Chi Omega Sorority. She attends Good Shepherd Episcopal Church, and is a landscape architect associate at PageDuke Landscape Architects in Nashville. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Mrs. James Coleman Lyne of Russellville, Ky., the late McDonald Forcum, the late Martha Bean Chance, and the late William Edgar Ezell Jr. Mr. Ezell is a graduate of Woodberry Forest School. He received a bachelor’s degree in geology from the University of Georgia, where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity. He is a member of St. George’s Episcopal Church, and is employed as an education specialist for the Metro Beautification and Environment Commission in Nashville.

Nunley and Egeland

The engagement of Lauren Patricia Nunley and Robert Charles Egeland Jr. is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Jane and Randy Nunley. Parents of the future bridegroom are Nancy and Robert Egeland. The wedding is planned for Saturday, Aug. 13, at Mountain Oaks Wedding Chapel. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Lana and John Holt of Pelham, Tenn., and Jane and Wayne Smart of Coalmont, Tenn. Miss Nunley graduated from Soddy-Daisy High School, and attended the Academy of Allied Heath and Science. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Peggy Loveless. Mr. Egeland is a graduate of Hixson High School. He is employed by Hunt Nissan.

Ryan and Thompson

The engagement of Jennifer Michaela Ryan and Cody Lee Thompson is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Anthony Christopher Ryan and Elena Antoni Ryan of Eva, Ala. Parents of the future bridegroom are Charles Raymond Royal and Vickie Henry Royal of Henagar, Ala., and the late Kenneth Dewayne Thompson. The wedding is planned for Saturday, June 25, at Val Monte Lakeside Resort and Marina in Guntersville, Ala. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Bobby Ryan of Hanceville, Ala., and the late Shirley Jane Ryan. Miss Ryan is a member of New Life Ministries. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Kenneth and Wanda Thompson, Alonza and Mary Royal, all of Henagar, and Bill and Vivian Henry. Mr. Thompson is a graduate of Ider High School. He is a member of New Life Ministries and is a mail carrier for Valley Head, Ala., postal service.

The engagement of Kelli Nicole Shropshire and Barrett Andrew Fischer is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Karla Shropshire and the late Robert Arden Shropshire. Parents of the future bridegroom are Barry Fischer and Jeanie Rodgers. The wedding is planned for Saturday, July 9, at St. Martin’s Episcopal Church, where both are members. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Verbanick, the late Mrs. H.K. Everett, and John A. Shropshire. Miss Shropshire is a graduate of Notre Dame High School. She received a bachelor’s degree in human ecology from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, and a master’s degree in instructional leadership from Tennessee Technological University. She is employed as a teacher at Brookwood Elementary School in Dalton, Ga., and is a member of Alpha Delta Kappa Teacher’s Sorority. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Ima Jean Reynolds, the late Mars U. Reynolds, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Vince Fischer. Mr. Fischer is a graduate of Notre Dame High School. He received a bachelor’s degree in turf grass management from Lake City College. He is co-owner of Fischer Irrigation and Lighting Inc.

The engagement of Chauncey Alexandria Simmons and Tyler Scott Hollister is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul R. Simmons. Burton Gaston of Fort Oglethorpe, and Mr. and Mrs. Henry G. Sloan of Varnell, Ga. Miss Sloan is a graduate of Ringgold High School. She received an associate’s degree from Young Harris College, and a bachelor’s degree in education from the University of Georgia. She received a master’s degree in education, magna cum laude, from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. She is a teacher at North Whitfield Middle School in Dalton, Ga. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Lt. Col. and Mrs. A.C. Miller III of Warner Robbins, Ga., Betty Dowdy of Jackson, Ga., and the late Earnest H. Dowdy. Mr. Miller is a graduate of Northwest High School. He received a degree in telecommunications engineering from Southern Polytechnic University. He is a member of Rockbridge Community Church, and is employed as a broadcast engineer at CNN in Atlanta.

The engagement of Susan Kennedy Smartt and Philip Joshua Cook is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Read Smartt Jr. Parents of the future bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. Philip Richard Cook of Franklin, Tenn. The wedding is planned for Sunday, July 3, at The Grandview on Lookout Mountain. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lee Pierson of Athens, Ga., the late Mary Kathryn Smartt McQuiddy, and the late Samuel Read Smartt. Miss Smartt is a graduate of Chattanooga Christian School. She received a bachelor’s degree in English literature from Taylor University and received certification in professional midwifery from the National College of Midwifery. She is a member of East Ridge Presbyterian Church and is a midwife and doula. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hill of Morehead City, N.C., the late Peggy Hill, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Irving Cook. Mr. Cook received a bachelor’s degree in turfgrass science and a master’s degree in agronomy from Pennsylvania State University. He is a member of East Ridge Presbyterian Church, and is assistant superintendent at the Honors Course.

Mr. Fletcher is a Signal Mountain police lieutenant.

Deborah Kaye Hughes became the bride of James Jake Wiggins on Thursday, Sept. 2, 2010, at their home in Hixson. The Rev. Tommy Davis performed the ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Doyle Paschal of Dunlap, Tenn. The bridegroom is the son of the late Raymond and Frances Wiggins. After a wedding trip to Gatlinburg, Tenn., the couple resides in Sale Creek.

Heather Nicole McGrath became the bride of Brian Leslie Williams in a ceremony on Saturday, April 9, at the Catoosa County Colonnade. Judge Chris Griffith performed the ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Tim and Sherry Dover. Parents of the bridegroom are Donnie Williams of Chickamauga, Ga., and Lisa Williams. Shannon Dover was maid of honor. Tiffany McGill was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Jessica Anderson, Chelsea Anderson, Stephanie Mainord, Esther Kelly and Katie Tucker. Hana Kendrick, Kaylee Haggard, Macey Williams and Jordynn Lawter were flower girls. John Wilson and Brandon Butler were best men. Groomsmen were A.J. Dover, Matthew Dover, Tyler Anderson, Matthew Romans and Cole Williams. Blake Burnette, Kaden Williams, Jayden Anderson and Landon Williams were ringbearers. A reception was held at the Colonnade. The couple resides in Chickamauga.
