Burn and Matthews

The engagement of Brittany Cathleen Burn and Kevin Grady Matthews is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Kevin Burn and Pennie Elkins of Oak Ridg. Parents of the future bridegroom are Steven Matthews and Paula Jenkins of Lewisburg, Tenn. The wedding is planned for Saturday, July 30, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, where the future bride is a member. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Hal and Rita Goans, Paul and Gabrielle Burn, all of Oak Ridge, and Ted and Ann O’Dell of Morehead City, N.C. Miss Burn is a graduate of Knoxville Catholic High School. She received a bachelor’s degree in human resources and general management from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, where she was a member of Chi Omega Sorority. She is employed as an implementation manager. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Edna Jenkins of Stockbridge, Ga., and Gene and Ruth Matthews of Dallas, Ga. Mr. Matthews is a graduate of Marshall County High School. He received a bachelor’s degree in economics and history from UTC, where he was a member of Phi Delta Theta Fraternity. He is employed as a client service representative.

Crumley and Croft

The engagement of Heather Elizabeth Crumley and Brandon Thomas Croft is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Thomas and Karen Crumley of Ringgold, Ga. Parents of the future bridegroom are Brian and Debbie Croft of Ringgold. The wedding is planned for Saturday, July 30, at New Heights Baptist Church. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Edward and Wilma Crumley, Willard Huskins of Nashville, and the late Shirley Huskins. Miss Crumley is a graduate of Ringgold High School. She is pursuing a nursing degree at Dalton State College. The future bridegroom is the grandson of James Richard Lanier of LaFayette, Ga., the late Virginia “Judy” Lanier, Gloria Croft Parker of Cohutta, Ga., and the late Leon Croft. Mr. Croft is a graduate of Ringgold High School. He attended Northwestern Technical College, and is employed by Whitener Paving Co.

Myers and Morgan

The engagement of Katherine Elizabeth Myers and Jonathan David Morgan is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Dr. Mickey and Beth Myers. Parents of the future bridegroom are Joseph and Brenda Viola of Henagar, Ala., and David Morgan of San Antonio, Texas. The wedding is planned for Saturday, July 23, at Grace Episcopal Church, where the bride-elect is a member. Miss Myers received bachelor’s and master’s degrees in early childhood education from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, where she was a member of Phi Mu Sorority, and an educational specialist degree from Lincoln Memorial University. She is a member of the Junior League, the DAR Chickamauga chapter, and is a kindergarten teacher at Woodstation Elementary School. Mr. Morgan received a bachelor’s degree in sociology, and a master’s degree in education from UTC. He is a member of the Catholic church and is a licensed professional counselor.

She is the events coordinator for the Chattanooga Area Chamber of Commerce. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. C.A. Parks and Mr. and Mrs. Billie A. Jones of Crestwood, Ky. Mr. Jones is a graduate of Baylor School and Auburn University. He is employed by R.D. Jones Construction, and is a member of First-Centenary United Methodist Church.

Mr. Mooney is a graduate of Ringgold High School. He received a degree in business administration from the University of West Georgia. He is a unit manager with Waffle House in Douglasville, Ga.

He received a bachelor’s degree in architecture, summa cum laude, from Georgia Institute of Technology, and a certificate in city and regional planning. He is employed as a project architect by Jones Pierce Architects in Atlanta.

Stephanie D. Bloomfield became the bride of James W. Grubb in a ceremony on Saturday, May 28, at Chestnut Hill Estate in Delano, Tenn. Dr. James C. Hutchings performed the ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Ronald and Frances Johnson of Birchwood, Tenn. Parents of the bridegroom are Phillip and Carol Grubb of Georgetown, Tenn. Ann Carroll was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Charlene Wells and Brooke Bloomfield. Kayla Bloomfield was the flower girl. Mr. Grubb served his son as best man. Groomsmen were Michael Grubb and Brian Johnson. Aiden Grubb was ringbearer. A reception was held at Chestnut Hill Estate. The couple took a wedding trip to Tahiti, Las Vegas and Los Angeles. The reside in Birchwood.

Tyler Banks was ringbearer. A reception was held at Collegedale City Hall. The couple took a wedding trip to Las Vegas. They reside in Knoxville.

Bridesmaids were April Martin, Ruthie Beardsley, Erin Dietsch, Jessica Campbell and Mary Beth Burgin. Piper Burgin was the flower girl. Mr. Burgin served his son as best man. Groomsmen were Justin Rector, Jeremiah Starners, Chip Austin, James Burns and Greg Davis. Asher Skyles was ringbearer. A reception was held at Tennessee RiverPlace. After a wedding trip to Isla, Mexico, the couple resides in this city.
