Allen and Oertling

The engagement of Taylor Marie Allen and Matthew Daniel Oertling is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Anthony Allen. Parents of the future bridegroom are Dr. and Mrs. Michael David Oertling of New Orleans. The wedding is planned for Saturday, May 14, at Signal Mountain Presbyterian Church, where the bride-elect is a member. The future bride is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Carroll Latham of Haymarket, Va. and Mr. and Mrs. William Guinn Allen of Trenton, Ga. Miss Allen is a graduate of Middle College High School. She received a bachelor’s degree in interior design from Middle Tennessee State University. She is employed as director of online marketing for Stone Services of Chattanooga and is also a freelance designer in New Orleans. The future bridegroom is the grandson of the late Hugh Lester and Armella Barre Bergeron and the late Mr. and Mrs. Sewall Jerome Oertling. Mr. Oertling is a graduate of New Orleans’ Jesuit High School. He received a bachelor’s degree in business management from A.B. Freeman School of Business at Tulane University. He is a member of St. Dominic Catholic Church and is logistics coordinator for Glazer’s Wholesale Drug Co.

Atchley and Norman

The engagement of Ryann Nichole Atchley and Ronald Lee Norman is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Gary and Patty Humphries and Joe Atchley of Cleveland, Tenn. The future bridegroom is the son of Rod and Marti Rosecrants of Merced, Calif. The wedding is planned for Saturday, May 7, in Patten Chapel on the campus of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. The bride-elect is granddaughter of Mildred Gussow of Athens, Tenn., the late Dudley Evans, and the late Ella Mae and Arthur Atchley. Miss Atchley received a bachelor’s degree in marketing from UTC. She is employed as an IT communications specialist by CLARCOR. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Gertrude Reed of Merced. Mr. Norman is a graduate of Dos Palos High School. He is district sales manager for Baldwin Filters.

The engagement of Chelsea Elyce Burroughs and Brady Kyle Wood is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Rob and Margaret Burroughs. Parents of the future bridegroom are the Rev. Joel and Diane Wood. The wedding is planned for Saturday, June 18, at Hixson First Baptist Church. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Maude King of Anderson County, Tenn. Miss Burroughs plans to receive a bachelor’s degree in biology, summa cum laude, from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in May. She is a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Easley and Reba Burgess of Benton, Tenn., and Polly Wood. Mr. Wood is youth pastor at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.

The engagement of Nora Winfrie Church and Sean Alan Charlesworth is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Dr. John Church and Dr. Therese M. Church of Dalton, Ga. Miss Church is a graduate of Girls Preparatory School. She received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Washington University. She is a member of Church of the Apostles in Atlanta and is employed by High Tech Ministries in Atlanta. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Norma Taylor and the late Mr. and Mrs. Arch Charlesworth. Mr. Charlesworth is a graduate of Boyd Buchanan School. He received bachelor’s and master’s degrees in accounting from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. He is a member of Church of the Apostles and is employed as an accountant by Deloitte and Touche in Atlanta.

The engagement of Karen Leigh Currie and John Collis Berry Jr. is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Leslie and Cheryl Currie of Chickamauga, Ga. She is a member of Brentwood Baptist Church, and is an elementary schoolteacher in Nashville. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. John J. Devine of Charlotte, N.C., and the late Mr. and Mrs. William J. Parks Sr. Mr. Parks is a graduate of Baylor School and the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, where he was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity. He is a member of Brentwood Baptist Church and is employed as a sales executive by Humana.

She is a member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church and is a teacher. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. James W. Kelley of Dunlap, Tenn., the late Richard Jefferson Cogdill and the late Gladys Verble Cogdill. Mr. Cogdill is a graduate of Cleveland High School. He attended Cleveland State Community College and Walter’s State Community College, where he received an associate’s degree in turf grass management. He received a bachelor’s degree in business management from UTC. He is a member of First United Methodist Church and is assistant superintendent at Tennessee National Golf Course in Loudon, Tenn.

Durham and Jayne

Courtney Erin Durham became the bride of Austin Ryan Jayne in a ceremony on Saturday, Oct. 16, in Santa Rosa Beach, Fla. The Rev. Bob Harris performed the ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Dan and Debbie Durham. Parents of the bridegroom are Ken and Cindy Jayne. Sarah Solovey was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Betsy Harr, Katie Pesce, Ashley Estes Brezina and Sarah Durham. Elizabeth Seipp was the flower girl. Brogan Jayne served his brother as best man. Groomsmen were Beau Durham, Philip Brown, Casey Condra and Garrett Grothoff. Griffin Jayne was ring bearer. A reception was held at Cypress Dunes clubhouse. The couple took a wedding trip to Jamaica. They reside in this city.

Monica Joy Kelsey became the bride of James Andrew Lockwood in a ceremony on Thursday, Dec. 30, at Gaylord Palms Resort in Orlando, Fla. The Rev. Chris Rogers performed the ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Mike and Debbie Kelsey of Windermere, Fla. Parents of the bridegroom are Terry and Gina Lockwood of Ringgold, Ga. Courtney Peacock and Katie Dodds, sisters of the bride, were matrons of honor. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Alex Camp, Lindsey Hazzard, Rebecca Baker and Katherine Precht. The bridegroom’s father and Alex Lockwood, brother of the bridegroom, served as best men. Groomsmen were Greg Meyers, Brett Richstone, Rob Richstone and Kevin Roberts. A reception was held at Gaylord Palms Resort in Orlando. After a Caribbean cruise, the couple resides in Macon, Ga.
