Engagement

Bradbury and Salter

The engagement of Dr. Kristin Lee Bradbury and Dr. Sean Patrick Salter is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Dr. Thomas Bradbury and Dr. Kimber Bradbury of Knoxville. Parents of the future bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. George Thomas Salter of Foley, Ala. The wedding is planned for Saturday, Oct. 29, at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, where both are members. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Charles Lee Johnson of Alexandria, La., the late Bobby Hurley Johnson, James Thomas Bradbury III of Knoxville, and the late Mary Louise Bradbury. Dr. Bradbury received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Alabama at Tuscaloosa, where she was a member of Alpha Omicron Pi Sorority, and a doctorate of medicine from Quillen College of Medicine. She is a member of the Junior League, and is a resident in obstetrics and gynecology at Erlanger Medical Center. The future bridegroom is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Patrick Lindsey and the late Mr. and Mrs. Ghale Thomas Salter. Dr. Salter received bachelor’s and master’s degrees, and a doctorate of finance from the University of Alabama, where he was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity. He is an associate professor of finance at Middle Tennessee State University.

Cox and Roemer

The engagement of Catherine Elizabeth Cox and Christian Troy Roemer is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Bill and Beth Cox. Parents of the future bridegroom are Herbert and Ginger Roemer of Hampton, Ga. The wedding is planned for Saturday, July 16, at First Cumberland Presbyterian Church, where the bride-elect is a member. The future bride is the granddaughter of Mose and Martha Jane Payne and the late Ed and Mary Robinson Cox. Miss Cox received a bachelor’s degree in dance from the University of Georgia, where she was a member of Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority. She is manager of Ribbons and Bows Oh My!, and is also a dance teacher. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Troy and Diane Douthit of Anniston, Ala., Ilse Roemer of Krickenbach, Germany, and the late Alfred Roemer. Mr. Roemer received a bachelor’s degree in religion from the University of Georgia. He is employed as a logistics coordinator by Access America.

Freeman and Franklin

The engagement of Lindsey Michelle Freeman and Joshua Russell Franklin is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Mike Freeman of Rock Spring, Ga., and Jan Gentry of Rossville. Parents of the future bridegroom are Russell and Teresa Franklin of Rossville. The wedding is planned for Saturday, June 25, in Patten Chapel on the campus of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Charles and Wilma Dunn and Ancel and Euna Freeman, all of Rossville. Miss Freeman is a graduate of Ridgeland High School. She is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education and special education at UTC. She is employed by Old Dominion Freight Line in Ringgold, Ga. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Wayne and Neva Franklin of Rossville, Mary L. Payne and the late Glenn Payne. Mr. Franklin is a graduate of Ridgeland High School. He received an associate’s degree in machine tool technology from Chattanooga State Community College. He is employed by Industrial Valve in Cleveland, Tenn.

The engagement of Brittani Holloway and Charles Debron Craig Jr. is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Cheryl Holloway and the late Charles Fleming. Parents of the future bridegroom are Agnes Silvels Langston and Charles Craig. The wedding is planned for Friday, July 15, at the Hamilton County courthouse. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Barbara and Frank Holloway. Miss Holloway is a graduate of Brainerd High School. The future bridegroom is the grandson of the late Herbert and Elizabeth Silvels Mr. Craig is a graduate of Howard School of Academics and Technology. He is a member of Hamlet Chapel C.M.E. He attends Rock Point Community Church, and is employed by the city of Chattanooga.

The engagement of Julia Alison Ramsey and Andrew Donald Tharp is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of David Ramsey and Nanette and Stephen Brown. Parents of the future bridegroom are Dr. Stephen and Susan Tharp of Frankfort, Ind. The wedding is planned for Saturday, Oct. 15. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Dick and Alice Ramsey, Joyce Patterson of New Bloomfield, Pa., and the late John J. Patterson IV. Miss Ramsey is a graduate of Girls Preparatory School. She received a bachelor’s degree in sociology from the University of Indiana. She is a member of Good Shepherd Episcopal Church, and is director of retail operations at New Leaf in Nashville, Ind. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Lois Tharp of Frankfort, the late Dr. John Tharp, and Donald and Joan Barnes of Indianapolis. Mr. Tharp is a graduate of Frankfort Senior High School and received a bachelor’s degree from Kelley School of Business at Indiana University. He is pursuing a doctor of jurisprudence at Indiana University Maurer School of Law. He is a senior fencing instructor at Indiana University, and is a member of St. Mathew United Methodist Church in Frankfort.

The engagement of Hannah Elizabeth Tucker and Karl William Nye is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Michael and Loretta Tucker of Mayfield, Ky. Mr. Nye is pursuing a degree in manufacturing and industrial technology from Tennessee Technological University. He is a member of Lake Hills Church of Christ.

Cara Cristen Worby Kunz became the bride of David Leighton Jones in a ceremony on Saturday, April 2, at Winchester First Baptist Church. The Rev. Rick Roberts performed the ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Frederick Kunz of Tracy City, Tenn., and Beverly and Daniel Meaker of Decherd, Tenn. Parents of the bridegroom are Joyce and Ronnie Sons of Tullahoma, Tenn. Jade McBee Barry was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Sheila Hancock, Sara Sons, Courtney Walker and Rachael Scarbrough. Danielle Scarbrough and McKenzie Scarbrough were flower girls. Mr. Sons served as best man. Groomsmen were Joel Roler, Cameron Meaker and Andrew Taylor. Draven McCoy was ringbearer. A reception was held at Capital Hill Community Center. The couple took a wedding trip to Gatlinburg, Tenn. They reside in Manchester, Tenn.

A reception was held at River Inn Event Center. The couple took an Alaskan cruise, and now reside in Johnson City, Tenn.

They reside in Chatsworth, Ga.
