Alder and Mofsky

The engagement of Jamie Elizabeth Alder and Bradley Nathan Mofsky is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Theresa Elizabeth Stewart Alder and the late James Thomas Alder Jr. Parents of the future bridegroom are the late Howard Harmon Mofsky and the late Doris Helen Utter Mofsky. The wedding is planned for Saturday, Nov. 19, at the home of the bride-elect. The future bride is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. James Thomas Alder Sr. and the late Mr. and Mrs. Atticus Kavanaugh Stewart. Ms. Alder graduated from Brainerd High School and attended the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. She is a member of St. Marks United Methodist Church and is an ambassador for Barefoot Books. The future bridegroom is the grandson of the late Samuel and Lillian Mofsky, Marshall Utter of Rochester, N.Y., and the late Vera Millard Utter Strait. Mr. Mofsky is a graduate of Livonia Central High School. He received certification in horticulture from May Occupational Center in Mount Morris, N.Y. He is a member of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He is employed as a security officer for Securitas and a driver for Groome Transportation.

Bissonette and Evans

The engagement of Hilary Jane Bissonette and Justin Adam Evans is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Thomas and Janet Bissonette. Parents of the future bridegroom are Stephen and Muriel Evans of Fall River, Mass. The wedding is planned for Saturday, Dec. 17, on The Fall River Carousel in Fall River. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Eunice Krichbaum. Miss Bissonette received a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Mr. Evans is a submarine sonar technician with the United States Navy.

The engagement of Caitline Castleberry and Patrick Stone is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Chuck and Tina Castleberry of Trenton, Ga. Parents of the future bridegroom are Pat and Eileen Stone of Rising Fawn, Ga. The wedding is planned for Friday, Nov. 11, at Rising Fawn Baptist Church, where both are members. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Joyce and Gary Davis and Flo and Bert Castleberry, all of Trenton. Miss Castleberry is a graduate of Dade County High School. She is a student at Northwestern Technical College and is employed as a certified nursing assistant by Home Nurse Inc. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Bessie Stone of Trenton, Jim and Veronica O’Mahoney of Dalton, Ga., and Earl and Kay Stone of Gillette, Wyo. Mr. Stone is a graduate of Dade County High School. He attended Energy Solutions Group Welding School and is employed by McKaig Electric.

Dyer and Whitely

The engagement of Laura Nicole Dyer and John Socrates Whitely is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Dyer. Parents of the future bridegroom are Dr. and Mrs. Gerald Whitely of Ringgold, Ga. The wedding is planned for Saturday, Dec. 17, at Calvary Chapel, where both are members. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Glenn and Harriett Michaels, the late John Conley and the late Myra Dyer. Miss Dyer is a graduate of Ringgold High School. She received a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Dalton State College and a master’s degree in elementary education from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. She is attending Lincoln Memorial University and is a teacher at Ringgold High School. The future bridegroom is the grandson of of Christine Papastavro of Detroit, Mich., the late Nick Papastavro, Gayle Whitely of Joppa, Md., and the late Bill Whitely. Mr. Whitely is a graduate of Calvary Christian School. He received a bachelor’s degree in political science from Tennessee Temple University. He is assistant manager at MacAuthority.

The engagement of Timeka Y. Fugett and Ronald O. Smith is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of the late Tommy Lee and Mae Doris Fugett. Parents of the future bridegroom are the late Oscar O’Neal Smith Jr. and the late Ernestine Thomas Williams. The wedding is planned for Friday, Nov. 11, at the Hamilton County Courthouse. Miss Fugett is a graduate of Chattanooga School of Performing Arts. She is a bus driver for Carta. Mr. Smith is a graduate of Brainerd High School. He received industrial maintenance tech certification from Chattanooga State Community College. He is employed in maintenance at Carta.

The engagement of Sarah Ashley Hamilton and James Frank Lyndell Hathcock is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Jim and Debbie Hamilton. Parents of the future bridegroom are Tim and Ruth Hathcock. The wedding is planned for Friday, Nov. 11, at Tennessee RiverPlace. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Nolan Lance, the late James Hamilton Sr. and the late Mr. and Mrs. George R. Nall. Miss Hamilton received a bachelor’s degree in interior design, magna cum laude, from Watkins College of Art, Design and Film. She is a member of First Baptist Church and is a construction coordinator for Nashville Area Habitat for Humanity. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Rosa Hathcock, the late Flavian Hathcock, the late Mr. and Mrs. Joe Smith and the late James Hutchins. Mr. Hathcock received a bachelor’s degree in culinary arts/business management from International Culinary School from The Art Institute of Tennessee. He is a member of First Baptist Church and is employed by Blackhawk Apartments.

Avera Jr. of Ocean Isle Beach, N.C., the late Elaine Williams Avera Williams, the late Virginia Johnson McKenzie and the late Dr. Roy E. McKenzie Jr. Miss McKenzie is a graduate of Baylor School. She received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, where she was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority, and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. She was presented in the 2005 Cotton Ball. She is employed as an account manager by The Johnson Group Advertising and Marketing. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Robert L. Gregg of Calhoun, Ga., the late Frances P. Gregg, Lorene Wells of Dalton and the late Willard E. Wells. Mr. Wells is a graduate of Dalton High School. He received a bachelor’s degree in advertising from UTK, where he was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity. He is a member of First Baptist Church in Dalton and is a marketing sales representative for Brown Industries.

Brittany Cathleen Burn became the bride of Kevin Grady Matthews in a ceremony on Saturday, July 30, at Basilica of Sts. Peter and Paul. The Rev. Michael Woods performed the ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Kevin Burn and Pennie Elkins of Oak Ridge, Tenn. Parents of the bridegroom are Steve Matthews and Paula Jenkins of Chapel Hill, Tenn. Blair Beter was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Lauren Christ, Sloane Cogdill, Leah Grignon, Mallory Irwin, Amy McCrory, Lindsey Parker, Catherine Pate and Heather Wolff. Carly Edde, Jessie Bray and Lily Bray were flower girls. Mr. Matthews served his son as best man. Groomsmen were Casey Bray, Riley Burn, Greg Butcher, Adolfo Equiluz, Taylor Holt, Cory Keeton, Kevin Stimson and Justin Summers. Michael Edde was ring bearer. A reception was held at Lindsay Street Hall. The couple took a wedding trip to Hawaii. They reside in this city.

Feagans and Smith

Lauren Elizabeth Feagans became the bride of Mason Lyman Smith in a ceremony on Saturday, Aug. 6, at Whitefield Chapel in Savannah, Ga. The Rev. Calvin Fowler performed the ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Charles Burton Feagans III and Susan Johnston Feagans. Parents of the bridegroom are the late Dr. David Cameron Smith and the late Valerie Mason Smith. Mrs. Feagans served her daughter as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Cameron Smith Moreland and Mary Carole Smith Hall. Burton Feagans was best man. Jarrett Hall and Matthew Moreland were groomsmen. A reception was held at the Olde Pink House in Savannah. After a wedding trip to Playa Mujeres, Mexico, the couple resides in Knoxville.
