The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. H.E. Jordan of Gates, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Sullivan of Humboldt, Tenn., and the late Carroll Chrestman. Miss Jordan is a graduate of Halls High School. She received a bachelor’s degree in communications, cum laude, from Lambuth University, where she was a member of Alpha Omicron Pi Sorority, and a master’s degree in education from the University of Tennessee at Martin. She is a kindergarten teacher at Rockvale Elementary School in Rockvale, Tenn. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Ruth Uptain, the late Mann Uptain, Martha Huggins and the late Wesley Huggins. Mr. Uptain is a graduate of Red Bank High School. He received bachelor’s and master’s degrees in special education from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. He is employed by Rutherford County Board of Education as a teacher for the deaf.
