The engagement of Elizabeth Melissa Anderson and Curtis Byron Cope Jr. is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Anderson. Parents of the future bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. Curt Cope of Auburn, Ala. The wedding is planned for Saturday, Sept. 24, at Lookout Mountain Presbyterian Church. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Dorothy O. Schreiber, the late Dr. L.K. Screiber and the late Mr. and Mrs. Irving Anderson. Miss Anderson is a graduate of Harpeth Hall and received a bachelor’s degree in communications from Auburn University. She is a member of Brentwood United Methodist Church and is employed in pharmaceutical sales. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Wiley Williams and the late Mr. and Mrs. John Thomas Cope Jr. Mr. Cope is a graduate of Lee Scott Academy and received a bachelor’s degre in entrepreneurship from Auburn University. The engagement of Devin Ashley Baker and David Ponder Geren is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Tommy Baker and Kim Evers. Parents of the future bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. Ponder Geren Jr. The wedding is planned for Saturday, Oct. 15, at Sunrise Farm in Trenton, Ala. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Kathleen Smith, the late Lonnie Smith, and Bill and Dorris Baker of LaFayette, Ga. Miss Baker is a graduate of Ooltewah High Scool and Alternative Visions Hair Academy. She is a member of City Church and is a cosmetologist at Elan Studio. The future bridegroom is the grandson of David Green, the late Imogene Green, and the late Ponder Geren Sr. Mr. Geren is a graduate of Boyd-Buchanan School. He attended Lee University and the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. He is a member of City Church and is co-owner and manager of Countryside Cafe.

Miss Jennings received a bachelor’s degree in pre-professional studies, summa cum laude, from Clemson University and a doctor of pharmacy degree, cum laude, from the University of South Carolina. She is employed by Moses Cone Hospital as a clinical pharmacist in a first - year residency. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Marye R. Navratil of Hollywood, Fla., the late Martin F. Navratil and the late Chester and Clarice Martin. Mr. Martin received a degree in packaging science, summa cum laude, from Clemson University. He is employed as a packaging engineer by Newell Rubbermaid.

She received an associate’s degree from Seminole Community College and an associate’s’degree in surgical technology from Miller-Motte Technical College. She is a patient care technician at Erlanger. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Jack and Shirley Rich of Jasper, Jane Peardon of Guild, Tenn., and the late Clifford Peardon. Mr. Peardon is a graduate of Boyd-Buchanan School. He received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Middle Tennessee State University. He is a member of Guild Baptist Church and is employed as an estimator at One Point Planning.

She is a member of Lookout Mountain Presbyterian Church and was presented in the 2007 Cotton Ball. She is employed as a paraprofessional by Siskin Children’s Institute. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Richard John Richmond of Junction City, Kan., Ella Wanda Lunsford and Charles O.A. Lunsford of Dalton. Mr. Richmond is a graduate of Southeast Whitwell High School in Dalton. He is an E-4 Specialist in the Army National Guard.
