Freeman and Sunderland

The engagement of Shay Ashley Freeman and Jonathan Cody Sunderland is announced today. The bride-elect is the daughter of David S. and Mitzi Freeman. The future bridegroom is the son of Johnny and Susan Sunderland. The wedding is planned for Sunday, May 6, in Patten Chapel on the campus of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Miss Freeman is the granddaughter of James and Betty Freeman and Jimmy and Brenda Callahan. She is a graduate of Soddy-Daisy High School and is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in nursing at UTC. She is employed as a nurse tech at Memorial Hospital and is a member of Dallas Bay Baptist Church. Mr. Sunderland is the grandson of Kathleen Matherley, the late Mendel Matherley and the late Howard and Marie Sunderland. He is also a graduate of Soddy-Daisy High School and is pursuing an associate’s degree at Chattanooga State Community College. He is employed by Academy Sports and is a member of Rechoboth Baptist Church.

Campbell and Sanford

The engagement of Rachel Marie Campbell and Justin Bradley Sanford is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Coni and Mark Jacobs of Rossville and Chuck and Denise Campbell. Parents of the future bridegroom are Randy and Joy Sanford of Dalton, Ga. The wedding is planned for Saturday, May 19, at First Baptist Church in Dalton. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Raymond and Joyce Roach of Fort Oglethorpe, Ga., and Charles and June Campbell of Rossville. Miss Campbell will receive a doctorate of pharmacy in May from Belmont University, where she is a member of Kappa Psi Pharmaceutical Fraternity Inc. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Eston and Kathleen Pendley of Dalton and Eulene Sanford of Ellijay, Ga. Mr. Sanford received a bachelor’s degree in biology from Dalton State College. He is pursuing a doctorate of pharmacy at the Medical University of South Carolina, where is a member of Kappa Psi Pharmaceutical Fraternity Inc.

Haskew and Broome

The engagement of Christina Darlene Haskew and Robert Scott Broome is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Rhonda Haskew and the late Bill Haskew. Parents of the future bridegroom are Buddy and Rhonda Broome. The wedding is planned for Saturday, April 28, at Tennessee RiverPlace. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Billie Benton, the late Charles E. Benton, the late John Haskew and the late Martha Haskew. Miss Haskew is a graduate of East Ridge High School. She received a degree in radiologic technology from Chattanooga State Community College. She is a radiologic technologist. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Mary Broome, the late Doc Broome and Bud and Elouise Grimes. Mr. Broome is a graduate of East Ridge High School. He is self-employed.

The engagement of Brittany Irene Hill and Dustin Dewayne Potter is announced today. The bride-elect is the daughter of Jimmy Hill and Tina Locke, both of Chickamauga, Ga. The future bridegroom is the son of Dewayne and Stacy Potter of Rossville. The wedding is planned for Friday, May 4, at the Ringgold Depot in Ringgold, Ga. Miss Hill is the granddaughter of Evelyn and William Brown of Chickamauga, Paul Hill and the late Linda Hill. The bride-elect is a graduate of Ridgeland High School. She is a manager at Sweet Peppers. Mr. Potter is the grandson of Robert M. and Diana Thacker and the late Drayton and Sue Potter. His great-grandparents are Edith Padgett and Robert V. Thacker of Crossville, Tenn. He is a graduate of Ridgeland High School and received certification as a pharmacy tech at Chattanooga State Community College. He is employed by Aerotek and is a member of First Baptist Church.

The engagement of Heather Nicole Lee and Taylor Hampton Brown is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of William and Cherie Lee Jr. of Williamsburg, Va. Parents of the future bridegroom are Joe and Cathy Brown. The wedding is planned for Saturday, July 14, at Rockwood Manor in Dublin, Va. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Dr. William and Shirley Lee of Williamsburg and Milton and Janice Garrett of Hudson, Fla. Miss Lee is a graduate of LaFayette High School. She received a bachelor’s degree in international studies and a master’s degree in geography, cum laude, from Virginia Tech University. She is pursuing a Ph.D in geography at Texas A&M University. She is a member of Wellspring United Methodist Church in Williamsburg. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Macon and Betty Brown, James D. Hodges of Hartfield, Va., and the late Mary L. Hodges. Mr. Brown is a graduate of McCallie School. He received a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Virginia Tech University. He is a member of Signal Mountain Presbyterian Church, and is employed as a field engineer for Siemens Corp.

The engagement of Katelyn Littlejohn and Nathaniel Sayre Kirnie is announced today. The bride-elect is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Robert Littlejohn of Wake Forest, N.C., and Mr. and Mrs. Bob Berz. Parents of the future bridegroom are Bette Kirnie of Syracuse, N.Y., and Mr. and Mrs. William Kirnie of Norfolk, N.Y. The future bride is the granddaughter of Dr. and Mrs. Orin Littlejohn of Marshall, Texas, and Mr. and Mrs. James Thrash. Miss Littlejohn is a graduate of Girls Preparatory School and received a bachelor’s degree in psychology, magna cum laude, from Millsaps College, where she was a member of Chi Omega Sorority. She earned a master’s degree in arts administration from Boston University. She is employed as an arts and communications associate at the Rose F. Kennedy Greenway Conservancy in Boston. Mr. Kirnie is the grandson of the late George and Stella Kirnie and the late Roy and Catherine Baldwin. He received a bachelor’s degree in economics from Fairfield University and is employed as a marketing and client services associate with Westfield Capital Management Co. in Boston.
