Demorest and Smith

The engagement of Jessica Ann Demorest and Andrew Michael Smith is announced today. The bride is the daughter of Jon and Carol Demorest of Orange County, Calif. Parents of the future bridegroom are Jamey and Lori Smith. The wedding is planned for Saturday, Sept. 22, at the Carnton Plantation in Franklin, Tenn. Miss Demorest received a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in organizational leadership from Vanderbilt University, where she was a member of Kappa Delta Sorority. She is a digital media specialist at The Tennessean Media Group in Nashville. Mr. Smith is a graduate of McCallie School. He received a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in leadership, policy and organizations from Vanderbilt University, where he was a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity. He is manager of business systems and program development at Brookdale Senior Living in Brentwood, Tenn.

Durham and Acuff

The engagement of Danielle Lynn Durham and Taylor Dewayne Acuff is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Danny and Debbie Durham of Chickamauga, Ga. Parents of the future bridegroom are Jeff and Angela Acuff. The wedding is planned for Saturday, April 21, at Mountain Cove Farms in Chickamauga. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Maxine Durham of Chickamauga, the late John Daniel Durham and Clyde and Wanda Cox. Miss Durham is a graduate of Gordon Lee Memorial High School. She received an associate’s degree in nursing from Dalton State College and is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in nursing at the University of West Georgia. She is a registered nurse at Memorial Hospital and a member of Oakwood Baptist Church. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Hunley and Barbara Acuff of Rossville, Elsa Bell of Flintstone, Ga., and the late James Edward Bell. Mr. Acuff is a graduate of Chattanooga Christian School. He is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in business at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. He is a member of Lookout Valley Baptist Church and is a supply clerk at Chattem Inc.

The engagement of Emily Elizabeth Gavlick and Adam Raymond Thomas is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Tom and Janet Gavlick and Brian and Becky Cox, all of Maryville, Tenn. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Christine Miller, the late Donald R. Miller and the late C.H. and Marie Humphrey, all of Cleveland. Miss Humphrey is a graduate of Cleveland High School. She received a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, where she was a member of Chi Omega Sorority. She is employed by Morgan Stanley Smith Barney. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Montine Broome of Rome, Ga., the late Bob “Lefty” Broome, Ola Stanfield of LaFayette, Ga., and the late J.L. “Pete” Stanfield. Mr. Broome is a graduate of Farragut High School. He received a bachelor’s degree in cardiopulmonary physiology from UTC, where he was a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity. He is employed by TVA.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Clyde “Shot” M. and Rose Marie Ingle and the late Frances Lorane and Charles Jackson Brymer Sr. Miss Ingle is a graduate of Central High School. She is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. The future bridegroom is the grandson of William Rosenbalm of Trenton, Ga., the late Joanna Rosenbalm, Vanova Gainer of Rossville and the late Grady Keith. Mr. Keith is a graduate of Central High School. He is a Petty Officer 2nd Class in the United States Navy and a conductor for Norfolk Southern.

She is an investigator with Tennessee Secretary of State. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Howell Jr. of Nashville. Mr. Nevin received a bachelor’s degree in management from Tulane University, where he was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity. He received a juris doctorate from Loyola University, where he was articles editor of Loyola Law Review and a Crowe’s Scholar. He is a member of First Presbyterian Church in Nashville and is an attorney with Nevin Law Firm.

Margaret Diane Beacham became the bride of Garrison Kennedy Conner in a ceremony on Saturday, Nov. 19, at Broad Street United Methodist Church in Cleveland, Tenn. The Rev. Reed Shell performed the ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bryan W. Beacham of Cleveland. Parents of the bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. H. Kennedy Conner. Hadley Inabinet was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Bailey Conner, Elizabeth Conner, Virginia Crumpler, Julia Kronholz, Katie Langley, Sarah Jane Park and Carolyn Stoddard. Anne Wells Lowery was the flower girl. Mr. Conner served his son as best man. Groomsmen were Travis Beacham, Matt Bogan, Garrett Cash, Jason O’Quinn, Chandler Pitts, Sam Stover and Trevor Thornton. Jack Freeman and Brad Freeman were bellringers. A reception was held at the Old Woolen Mill in Cleveland. After a wedding trip to St. Lucia, the couple resides in Arden, N.C.

A brunch was held at the church following the ceremony. After a wedding trip to Puerto Rico, the couple resides in Atlanta.
