Parents of the future bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. Michael Smith of New Market, Va. The wedding is planned for Saturday, May 12, at Wild Dunes, Isle of Palms, S.C. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Helton and the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Austin. Miss Austin received a bachelor’s degree in communications from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. She employed by Unum. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Granville Richards of New Market, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Ray Smith. Mr. Smith is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in general management at UTC.

Burgin and Slasor

The engagement of Mary Elizabeth Burgin and Thomas Vincent Slasor III is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mark A. Burgin. Parents of the future bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. Randy Rayburn and the late Tom V. Slasor Jr. The wedding is planned for Saturday, June 2, at Tyner United Methodist Church. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Betty Hale, the late Ed Hale, the late Lyle Davis and Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Burgin. Miss Burgin received an associate’s degree from Chattanooga State Community College and attended the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. She is a member of Hixson United Methodist Church and is employed by Long of Chattanooga Mercedes-Benz. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Irene Slasor of New Philadelphia, Ohio, the late Thomas V. Slasor Sr., Mr. and Mrs. Larry Santos and the late Wallace McHenry. Mr. Slasor attended Chattanooga State Community College. He is employed by Aerotek atVolkswagen of Chattanooga.

Crouse and DeBolt

The engagement of Amber Lynn Crouse and Marcus Lee DeBolt is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Glenn and Dava Crouse. Parents of the future bridegroom are Victory and Nancy DeBolt of Midlothian, Va. The wedding is planned for Saturday, Oct. 20, in Windwood, Ga. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Johnny Pitman, the late Charlotte McCollum and the late Norman and Ann Crouse. Miss Crouse is a graduate of Notre Dame High School. She is a student at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, majoring in interior design. She is a member of Dallas Bay Baptist Church. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Robert and Faye Myers and Larry and Mabel DeBolt. Mr. DeBolt is a graduate of Chattanooga Christian School. He received a bachelor’s degree in entrepreneurship from UTC. He is a member of Dallas Bay Baptist Church and is a financial services specialist.

Davis and Warner

The engagement of Cortney C. Davis and Curtis L. Warner is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of the late Donald J. White and LaDonna Davis-Smith of Detroit, Mich. Parents of the future bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. Myron E. Kingsberry of Ramstein, Germany. The wedding is planned for Saturday, July 14, at New Monumental Baptist Church, where both are members. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Daniel Gould and the late Willie Mae Davis. Miss Davis received a bachelor’s degree in mass media from Missouri State University, where she was a member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority. She is employed as a secretary with the Hamilton County Department of Education. The future bridegroom is the grandson Wilma Brabson of Knoxville and the late Hobert Brabson Sr Mr. Warner received an associate’s degree in health and recreation from Cleveland State Community College. He is pursuing a degree in health and human performance-pedagogy from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. He is an exceptional education assistant with Catoosa County schools.

Decosimo and Pendergrass

The engagement of Margaret Rachel Decosimo and Brian Lee Pendergrass is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Frederick Decosimo. Parents of the future bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Lee Pendergrass. The wedding is planned for Saturday, March 31, at the IMAX Theater. She is a member of First Presbyterian Church, and is employed by Aerotek as a recruiter for the Volkswagen Group of America. The future bridegroom is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Stephen Lagocky and Mr. and Mrs. Rex Lee Pendergrass. Mr. Pendergrass is a graduate of Chattanooga Christian School. He received bachelor’s degrees in sociology and anthropology from UTC. He is project manager for Apex Electric Co. Inc.

He is employed as a supervisor at Cummins Diesel.

She received a bachelor’s degree in exercise science from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority. She received a doctorate in physical therapy from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. She is a member of Christ United Methodist Church and is a physical therapist at Vanderbilt Stallworth Rehabilitation Hospital in Nashville. The future bridegroom is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. James A. Wingo, Bea Sasser of Sylacauga, Ala., and the late Herrell O. Sasser. Mr. Wingo is a graduate of Boyd Buchanan School. He received a bachelor’s degree in accounting from UTK. He is member of Hixson United Methodist Church and is a CPA at Unum.

Miss McKinley is a graduate of Notre Dame High School. She received a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, where she was a member of Alpha Delta Pi Society, and a master’s degree in nursing from Vanderbilt University. She is a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, and is a nurse practitioner in hematology and oncology at Georgia Hematology and Oncology in Dalton, Ga. The future bridegroom is the grandson of the late Bill and Helen Brewer. Mr. Adcox graduated from Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe High School and received a psychology degree from the University of Phoenix. He is a member of South Seminole Baptist Church, and is operations manager for AAA Parking.

The engagement of Julie Elizabeth Pollard and Herrick Cochran Griffin is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Dr. Jack and Brenda Pollard. Parents of the future bridegroom are Dr. Robert and Joan Griffin of Belvedere, Calif. The wedding is planned for Saturday, Oct. 20, at Signal Mountain Presbyterian Church, where the bride-elect is a member. The future bride is the granddaughter of Marie Diagneault, Calvin Smith of Duluth, Ga., Arilee Pollard of Lodi, Calif., and the late James Clifford Pollard. Miss Pollard is a graduate of Girls Preparatory School. She received bachelor’s and master’s degrees in mechanical engineering from Southern Methodist University, where she is doing research while pursuing a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering. The future bridegroom is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph William Cochran III and the late Mr. and Mrs. Percy E. Griffin. Mr. Griffin is a graduate of Salisbury High School. He received a bachelor’s degree in international studies at SMU. He is a member of St. Stephen’s Church in Belvedere and is an inside sales representative at Dynamex.

Waters and Cook

Tina Marie Waters and Rickey C. Cook were united in marriage in a ceremony on Saturday, Jan. 14. The Rev. Troy Simmons performed the ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Jimmy D. Waters Sr. of Chickamauga, Ga. The bridegroom is the son of Mary Joe Cook. Pamelia Cook and Meredith Casto were the bride’s attendants. Cary Cook served as best man and Ricky Cook Jr. was the groomsman. A reception was held at the home of Cary and Pamela Cook. The couple resides in Chickamauga.
