Engagement

Calhoun and Goetz

The engagement of Whitney Raye Calhoun and John Lee Goetz is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Dr. Larry and Kathryn Calhoun of Jonesborough, Tenn. Parents of the future bridegroom are Mark Goetz and the late Leslie Goetz. A private wedding is planned for Saturday, Aug. 18, at First Presbyterian Church in Johnson City, Tenn. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Raymond and Pearl Calhoun of Hampton, Tenn., Frank Kendall of Johnson City, and the late Carolyn Kendall. Miss Calhoun is a graduate of Science Hill High School. She received a bachelor’s degree in mass communications from East Tennessee State University, where she was a member of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority, and a master’s degree in business administration from Milligan College. She is a legislative correspondent in the office of Sen. Bob Corker and a member of National Community Church in Washington, D.C. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Jack and Kay Arthur, Barbara Summar and the late Robert Summar. Mr. Goetz is a graduate of McCallie School. He received a bachelor’s degree in political science at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, where he is pursuing a master’s degree in public administration. He is a legislative aide in the office of Sen. Bob Corker and is a member of National Community Church in Washington.

Hall and Baker

The engagement of Joy Elizabeth Gossett Hall and James David Baker is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Roger and Elaine Hall. Parents of the future bridegroom are Eugene Baker Jr. and Alyese Baker. The wedding is planned for Sunday, Aug. 5, at Lindsay Street Hall. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Betty J. and Richard F. Gossett Sr., Edward and Sue Hall and Ralph and Ann Hillis of Hudson, Fla. Miss Hall is a graduate of Girls Preparatory School. She received a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, and is pursuing a master’s degree in education. She was presented in the 2006 Cotton Ball. She is a member of Abba’s House. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Luther and Nell Carpenter and the late Anne and Eugene Baker Sr. Mr. Baker is a graduate of Ooltewah High School. He received a degree in environmental science from UTC.

Horn and Osteen

The engagement of Rachel Elizabeth Horn and James Franklin Osteen III is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Dudley Horn. Parents of the future bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. James Franklin Osteen Jr. of Brentwood, Tenn. The wedding is planned for Saturday, Sept. 8, at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Nashville. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Henry Bethea and the late Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Emerson Horn. Miss Horn is a graduate of Dalton High School in Dalton, Ga. She received a bachelor’s degree in child development from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, where she was a member of Phi Mu Sorority. She was presented in the 2003 Dalton Cotillion. She is a hospital auditor with UnitedHealth Group. The future bridegroom is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. James Oliver Johnson, Mrs. James Franklin Osteen Sr. of Nashville and the late Mr. Osteen. Mr. Osteen is a graduate of Battle Ground Academy in Franklin, Tenn. He received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Mississippi, where he was a member of Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity. He is vice president and partner of Collateral Guaranty III in Nashville.

Worland and Beagan

The engagement of Suzannah Sally Worland and Joshua Caleb Beagan is announced today. The future bride is the daugher of Sally and David Worland of Chickamauga, Ga. Parents of the future bridegroom are Jordana and Bill Beagan of Chickamauga. The wedding is planned for Saturday, Aug. 25, at 6:30 p.m. at Hidden Hollow Farm in Chickamauga. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Paul W. Worland, the late Sylvia Lee Worland, Heatwole C. Thomas of Chickamauga, and the late Bonny Jean Thomas. Miss Worland graduated from Chattanooga Christian School and will attend Georgia Northwestern College in the fall. She is a member of Rock Creek Fellowship in Rising Fawn, Ga. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Bettie and Bill Beagan of Rossville and Donna and Billie Miller of Garden City, Mich. Mr. Beagan is a graduate of Gordon Lee High School. He received Automotive Service Excellence Masters certification from Georgia Northwestern College. He is employed by Stapp Automotive and is a member of Chattanooga Valley Nazarene Church.

Tiffany Ann Moshier became the bride of Brett Harris Honeycutt in a ceremony on Saturday, June 16, at St. Phillips Catholic Church in Franklin, Tenn. The bride is the daughter of Bruce and Giselle Moshier of Franklin. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Honeycutt of Dallas, Texas. He is the grandson of Rachel Harris and the late Jack C. Harris. A reception was held at the church. The couple resides in Franklin.

Holly Nanette Rider became the bride of Dane Ronald Anderson in a ceremony on Sunday, May 27, at Hammock Beach Resort in Palm Coast, Fla. The Rev. John Harris performed the ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Todd and Maureen Rider of Ringgold, Ga. Parents of the bridegroom are Ronnie and Dianne Anderson of Chickamauga, Ga. Robin Gibson was matron of honor. Tabitha Smith was the bridesmaid and Lana Gibson was the flower girl. Mr. Anderson served his son as best man. Andy Cross and Adam Cross were groomsmen. Andrew Rider was ringbearer. A reception was held in the Atlantic Ballroom at Hammock Beach Resort. After a honeymoon in the Virgin Islands, the couple resides in this city.

Jennifer Sandra Kaufman became the bride of Mark Justin Pendergrass in a ceremony on Saturday, July 7, in Georgeville, Quebec. Joan Scott and Perry Key performed the ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Mark and Anne Kaufman of Montreal, Canada. Parents of the bridegroom are Linda Pendergrass and the late Dr. Tom Pendergrass. Autumn Foushee was maid of honor. Kassandra Churcher, Jenny Doubt and Jessie Scott were bridesmaids. Millie Milbert and Kate Turcotte were flower girls. Matt Wood served as best man. Groomsmen were Ben Johnson, Baker Owens and Patrick Welch. Wendy Kahn Kaufman, Leigh Pendergrass, Phil Kaufman and Tim Kaufman were also members of the wedding party. A reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents in Georgeville. After a wedding trip to Panama, the couple resides in Burlington, Vt.

The engagement of Haley Danielle Pukenas and Russell Gainer Gros is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Tom and Sue Pukenas. The future bridegroom is the son of Susan Gros. She received a master’s degree in occupational therapy from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. She is an occupational therapist at Life Care Center of Hixson, and is a member of Hixson United Methodist Church. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Gloria Gainer of Vestavia Hills, Ala. Mr. Gros received bachelor’s and master’s degrees in business administration from UTC, where he was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity. He is employed by US Xpress, and is a member of St. Jude Catholic Church.
