Van Deusen and Hely
The engagement of Katherine Elizabeth Van Deusen and Norman Patrick Hely is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Robert O. Littlejohn of Wake Forest, N.C., and Peter M. Van Deusen. Parents of the future bridegroom are Sueann W. Hely and Mr. and Mrs. Edward A. Hely, all of Paducah, Ky. The wedding is planned for Saturday, Sept.1, at The Grandview on Lookout Mountain. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene W. Tate and the late Mr. and Mrs. George S. Van Deusen. Miss Van Deusen is a graduate of Baylor School. She received a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, a master’s degree in biological and physical sciences from the University of Virginia and a doctor of jurisprudence from Vanderbilt University Law School. She is an attorney in West Palm Beach, Fla., and is a member of The Church of Bethesda-by-the-Sea in Palm Beach. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Mrs. A.B. Fendley of Paducah, the late Norman L. Hely, and the late Dorothy L. Wade. Mr. Hely is a graduate of Paducah Tilghman High School. He received a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and economics from Vanderbilt University and a doctor of jurisprudence from Vanderbilt University Law School. He is an attorney in West Palm Beach, and is a member of the Church of Bethesda-by-the-Sea.
