Amick and Parks
The engagement of Lindsey Nicole Amick and Robert Mebane Parks is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Ray Amick of Vestavia Hills, Ala. Parents of the future bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. Larry Stephen Parks. The wedding is planned for Saturday, Aug. 18, in Birmingham, Ala. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert E. Baker, the late Gladys N. Baker, Allie B. Amick and the late Buford Ray Amick, all of Birmingham. Miss Amick is a graduate of Vestavia Hills High School. She received a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Auburn University, where she was a member of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority. She is a staff accountant at BBVA-Compass Bank in Birmingham, and is a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Homewood, Ala. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Aubrey Parks and the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Jesse Mebane. Mr. Parks is a graduate of Notre Dame High School. He received a bachelor’s degree in building science from Auburn University. He is employed as assistant project manager for T.U. Parks Construction Co., and is a member of Our Lady of the Mount Catholic Church.

Freeman and Hunter
The engagement of Alicia Therese Freeman and David Alan Hunter is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Sandy Freeman. Parents of the future bridegroom are Roger and Sharon Bryson. The wedding is planned for Saturday, Oct. 13, at Greenway Farms in Hixson. Miss Freeman is a graduate of Soddy-Daisy High School. She is pursuing a medical assisting degree at Virginia College. She is employed as a receptionist-technician for Sequoyah Animal Hospital, and is a member of Dividing Ridge Church of God. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Barbara Sedman. Mr. Hunter is a graduate of Central High School. He is employed by Ryder and is a member of Dividing Ridge Church of God.

The engagement of Patricia Lynne Phifer and William Grant Clark is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Ray and Joni Phifer. Parents of the future bridegroom are Dan and Donna Clark. The wedding is planned for Saturday, May 19. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Bill and Fay Phifer of Lewisburg, Tenn., and Charles Gammill of Shelbyville, Tenn. Miss Phifer is a graduate of Soddy-Daisy High School. She received a bachelor’s degee in business administration from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. She is an administrative assistant at a local CPA firm, and is a member of Dallas Bay Baptist Church. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Uma Clark. Mr. Clark is a graduate of Hixson High School. He received emergency medical technician certification from Chattanooga State Community College. He is employed by Academy Sports & Outdoors, and is a member of Dallas Bay Baptist Church.

The engagement of Sarah Elizabeth Prince and Jeremy Morgan Bates is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Michael Thornton and Linda Boehm of Hendersonville, Tenn. Parents of the future bridegroom are Laurie Bates and Bob Bates of Homestead, Fla. The wedding is planned for Friday, Oct. 12. Ms. Prince is a graduate of Hendersonville High School. She is a student in the professional actors training program at Chattanooga State Community College. She is an intern at Chattanooga State Reparatory Theatre. Mr. Bates is a graduate of Hixson High School. He received an associate’s degree in computer networking from Chattanooga State Community College. He is a network administrator for FSG Bank.

Kelley Collawn became the bride of Lance Brandon Carter in a ceremony on Sunday, Nov. 20, at Full Gospel Church in Woodford, Va. The Rev. Thomas Carter Sr. performed the ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Karl Collawn of Bumpass, Va. and Debra Rawlings of Littleton, N.C. Parents of the bridegroom are Mark and Michelle Carter of Montpelier, Va. After a honeymoon in Luray, Va., the couple resides in Glen Allen, Va.

Katherine Elizabeth Myers became the bride of Jonathan David Morgan in a ceremony on Saturday, July 23, at Grace Episcopal Church. The Rev. Susan J. Butler performed the ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Dr. Mickey and Beth Myers. Parents of the bridegroom are Brenda and Joseph Viola of Henagar, Ala., and David Morgan of San Antonio, Texas. Rebecca Layne was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Laurie Lynn, Kat Brown and Annalea Malone. Sophie Vita was the flower girl. Tim Vita served as best man. Groomsmen were Jason Pruett, Jonathan Turner and Casey Curtis. A reception was held at the church. After a wedding trip to St. Thomas, Virgin Islands, the couple resides in this city.

Beverly Del Rosario-Onate became the bride of Lt. Andrew Lake Woodward in a ceremony on Saturday, Dec. 17, in Immaculata Parish at the University of San Diego. The Rev. Benjamin Bachmeier performed the ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Gary and Elizabeth Onate of San Diego, Calif. Parents of the bridegroom are Terry and Sally Woodward. Julieanne Legaspi-Mera and Ashley Agapay were the bride’s honor attendants. Sara Woodward was the bridesmaid and Kailani Borneman was the flower girl. Lt. j.g. Jacob Beckelhymer served as best man. Groomsmen were Capt. Larell Atkins and Clint Lewis. Logan Emmanuel Onate was ring bearer. The couple took a wedding trip to Tahit. They reside in Yokosuka, Japan.
