Burns and Burke
The engagement of May Everett Burns and Jeffrey Aaron Burke is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Mrs. Arthur Lee Burns Jr. and the late Mr. Burns. Parents of the future bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Eugene Burke of East Amherst, N.Y. The wedding is planned for Saturday, Aug. 3, at Sea Island, Ga. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. James E. Walker Jr. and the late Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Lee Burns Sr. Miss Burns is a graduate of Girls Preparatory School. She received a bachelor’s degree in management and Spanish from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she was a member of Chi Omega sorority. She received a master’s degree in business administration from Stern School of New York University. She was presented in the 65th Cotton Ball and was a member of the court in the 66th Cotton Ball. She is in business development with GoldenTree Asset Management, LP in New York City. She is a member of New York City Junior League and of First-Centenary United Methodist Church. The future bridegroom is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Stewart Tosh and the late Mr. and Mrs. Archie Alvis Burke. Mr. Burke received a bachelor’s degree in finance from Georgetown University. He is in portfolio management with GoldenTree Asset Management, LP in New York City. He is a member of Perinton Presbyterian Church in Fairport, N.Y.
Harrison and Belz
Katherine “Kate” Joy Harrison became the bride of Drew Timothy Belz in a ceremony on Saturday, March 16, at First United Congregational Church of Christ in Asheville, N.C. The Rev. Steve Smallman Jr. performed the ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Tim and Carol Harrison of Asheville. Parents of the bridegroom are Nat and Mindy Belz of Asheville. Anna Harrison, sister of the bride, served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Helen Harrison, Lisa Coward, Maggie Asher, Rachel Boone, Karin Olson, Sienna Kendall and Claire Ake. Eve Harrison was the flower girl. James Harrison, brother of the bride, served as best man. Groomsmen were Isaiah Smallman, Sam Belz, Alex Miller, David Barr, Luke Irwin, John Mark Bowers and Michael Kendall. A reception was held at The Crest Pavilion in Asheville. After a wedding trip to St. Martin, the couple resides in Chattanooga.
Conner and Stephens
Elizabeth Kennedy Conner became the bride of Jesse Ray Stephens in a ceremony on Saturday, June 1, at Signal Mountain Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Dr. William E. Dudley performed the ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Kennedy Conner. Parents of the bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. Donald Stephens of Rocheport, Mo. Bailey Conner and Katie Bogan, sisters of the bride, were honor attendants. Katherine Couvillon and Beth Tipps were bridesmaids. Mary Mattison Bogan was the flower girl. Mr. Stephens served his son as best man. Groomsmen were Garrison Conner, Steven Sapp and Kyle Stephens. Konrad Stephens and Elijah Stephens were ring bearers. A reception was held at Lindsay Street Hall. After a wedding trip to Maine, the couple resides in Wooldridge, Mo.
