Pickett and Davis
Alicia Pickett became the bride of Marvin Davis Jr. in a ceremony on Saturday, March 1, at Holy Temple Church. The Rev. Toney Bonner performed the ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Consuayla Pickett and the late Demond Foster. Parents of the bridegroom are Satari and Joseph Durrah and Marvin Davis Sr. Keosha Craddock was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Shadaria Marble-Overton, Danielle Taylor, Wanda Ray, Victoria Williams and DeShondra Sims. Morgan Williams and Jada McKinnley were the flower girls. Tremayne Johnson and Anthony Wiley served as best men. Groomsmen were Reginald Green, Deangelo Bryant, Darius Brown, Mark Hayes and Michael Pittman. Chris Waller and Marvin Fallins were ushers. JaTari Davis and Amari Davis were ringbearers. A reception was held at the Chatt Room Inn. After a wedding trip to the Bahamas, the couple will reside in Florida.
Ellis and Hughes
The engagement of Lauren Michelle Ellis and David Latimore Hughes Jr. is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Brian Ellis of Cleveland, Tenn. Parents of the future bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. David Latimore Hughes of Chattanooga. The wedding is planned for Saturday, March 8, at Black Fox Farms in Cleveland. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. David K. Williams, Mr. and Mrs. Lester H. Hudgins, Willadean Ellis and the late Robert A. Ellis, all of Cleveland. Miss Ellis is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in biology at Middle Tennessee State University. She is a graphic designer with the Worx Group and a whitewater instructor for the MTSU outdoor program. She is a member of Redeemer Church in Murfreesboro, Tenn. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Mrs. Nathaniel C. Hughes Jr., the late Dr. Hughes, Jack Lonas, the late Carolyn Scott Lonas and the late William D. Scott. Mr. Hughes received a bachelor’s degree and is pursuing a master’s degree in engineering technology from MTSU. He is a manufacturing engineer at Mahle Filter Systems in Murfreesboro, and is a member of Redeemer Church.
Day and Hodskins
The engagement of Emily Michelle Day and Steven Bernard Hodskins is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Garry and Linda Day of Epworth, Ga. Parents of the future bridegroom are Bernard and Monica Hodskins of Blue Ridge, Ga. The wedding is planned for Saturday, April 12, at First United Methodist Church in Copperhill, Tenn., where the future bride is a member. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Peggy McKown, the late William E. McKown Jr., Marilyn Day and Jim Moyer of Clarksville, Tenn., and the late Burleigh Day Jr. Miss Day received a bachelor’s degree in biology, summa cum laude, from the University of Georgia, where she was a member of Delta Zeta sorority. She is a third - year medical student at the University of Tennessee Health Sciences Center in Memphis. The future bridegroom is the grandson of John and Consuelo Blankenagel of Mexico City, Mexico, and the late Eugene and Lorene Hodskins. Mr. Hodskins received a bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering from the University of Georgia. He is an engineer with EnSafe Inc., in Memphis and is a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Blue Ridge.
