Dear Teachers, Administrators, Support Staff, Parents and Students,There are great things happening in our classrooms and schools each and every day. It’s time to shine a light on these accomplishments and celebrate our successes.
The inaugural Greater Hamilton County Excellence in Public Education Awards were created to honor teachers and other staff and community members who have achieved the highest standards of excellence in their profession or given field. Our goal is to recognize, honor, and encourage outstanding achievements among those whose efforts enhance the quality of education in our public schools. The future of Hamilton County truly rests in the hands of those who teach and influence our students and community, and we encourage you to nominate teachers, faculty, staff and others who support the initiatives essential to our success.
Along with Teacher of the Year, categories featuring excellence in administration, support staff (clerical, janitorial, cafeteria, etc), alumnus, and community and corporate support are available for nomination.
Nominations may be submitted by teachers, administrators, support staff, parents, students, or former students. Self nominations are prohibited. Nomination forms should be submitted by April 10, 2013. For the Teacher of the Year award, a committee will select three finalists at each level: elementary (grades PreK-5), middle (6-8), and high (9-12) school.
Each nominee in all categories will be invited to attend a banquet in their honor where they will be recognized along with the public announcement of the winners of each category. Winners will be featured in a special commemorative edition of the Chattanooga Times Free Press as well.
Please fill out all the info below to nominate someone. The deadline is April 10th, 2013.
