I derive great and surprisingly guilt-free satisfaction from the fact that two California teams lost this years biggest collegiate athletic prizes: USC succumbed to Texas in football in charmingly heartbreaking fashion.
And in basketball, UCLA crumbled against Florida in abject mortification, judging from the lopsided score. I say judging from the lopsided score because of course I didnt watch any of that overhyped nonsense. But on principle its a good thing when California teams implode.
Speaking of satisfaction, is anybody else basking in the glow of Nebraskas continued irrelevance to the college football scene? (I did a year in Nebraska; that entitles me to complain.)
Come, let us savor these halcyon days.
