Alma Miller, who has owned and operated Northside Lunch for nearly 40 years, said today that she will close the business and retire in June.
Im just tired and worn out, said Ms. Miller, whos in my 60s and planning to close for the last time on June 3. Its (become) a little bit more than I can handle.
She said that the North Shore revitalization has not only not helped her business, but hurt it.
Ive been going in the hole since the (Coolidge) parks been here, she said.
The biggest majority of people out walking ... come in and want to use the bathroom or a Coke ...but they dont buy anything. They just walk, she said.
Bill Humphlett of Atlanta, whos owned the property at 202 Frazier Ave. since 2001 with his wife, Mary, said he has nothing definite in mind at present for that lot.
