Chattanooga police officers sue city, pension board

By Ginny LaRoe

Staff Writer

Fourteen Chattanooga Police Department officers have sued the city over the ability to buy back pension credit for time served in other city departments. The officers want the ability to purchase their retirement credit for time spent in other city departments before becoming police officers and for the city to pay its share, according to the lawsuit filed last week in Hamilton County Chancery Court.

The city has not yet responded to the complaint.
