Resident discusses hand counting at Election Commission

By Michael Davis

Staff Writer

A Signal Mountain woman told the Hamilton County Election Commission this morninjg that she is concerned about the accuracy of electronic voting machines and wants to see ballots hand counted.

Kitty Messler acknowledged hand counting could take days or even weeks, but she said it would be the most accurate way to tabulate votes.

Republican Commissioner Mike Walden thanked Mrs. Messler for speaking to the Election Commission, but he said the body simply follows the law with regard to conducting elections.

Democratic Commissioner Dorothy Eddington said the womans campaign was an uphill climb, but praised her for her efforts.
