First Person: Staff writer launches China visit

Filed by staff writer Herman Wang

I arrived Saturday in Beijing for my three-week visit to China. While here, I hope to visit some of the industrial corporations in Wuxi that Chattanooga Mayor Ron Littlefield toured during his visit to our sister city last year.

I also plan to meet with a few UT and UTC students who are studying abroad here this semester. Be sure to check the Times Free Press in the next few weeks for those stories and more from my trip.

In the meantime, I plan to do a lot of sightseeing. So far, I have the Great Wall, Tienamen Square and the Forbidden City on my itinerary. The people here are friendly, the food is fantastic and more adventures await.
