The hunt continued Saturday for a black bear that mauled three members of an Ohio family Thursday in the Cherokee National Forest.
The status of 2-year-old Luke Cenkus was upgraded Saturday to fair condition, according to officials with T.C. Thompson Childrens Hospital. Officials said the boy and his mother Susan Cenkus, 45, were mauled by a single bear that then killed the womans 6-year-old daughter, Elora Petrasek.
The bear has not been seen since Thursdays attacks, which took place near Benton Falls in the Chilhowee Recreation Area, officials said.
