ROME, Ga. - Yaroslav Popovych of Discovery Channel won the second stage of the Tour de Georgia, finishing the 116.1-mile course with an unofficial time of 4:47:39.

Popovych jumped into the lead in the final lap around Rome's Clocktower Hill to earn the leader's jersey.

Alejandro Acton of Targettrainning previously held the lead since finishing the first sprint with a 1-minute gap, a lead that was much as 10:30 with 58 miles of the stage covered. At the 90-mile mark, the peleton started to close in on Acton, down to 4:20, only 13 miles out of Rome.

Finishing in second was J.J. Haedo of Toyota-United and Fred Rodriguez of Davitamon-Lotto came in third.
