Two-year-old Luke Cenkus was released from T.C. Thompson Children’s Hospital today, one week after he and his family were attacked by a black bear in Polk County.

Luke, who underwent one surgery for significant puncture wounds to his head, is with his father and other family members, according to a news release. His mother, Susan, 45, who also was mauled in the April 13 attack, is listed in “stable but guarded” condition at Erlanger hospital after several surgeries, according to the news release.
