Rhea County Schools Superintendent Dallas Smith said today that schools would be shut down Friday and Monday because of rising fuel prices for transportation.
“We’re saving on diesel,” Mr. Smith said. He would not give any further information, including whether the closure would continue through the rest of the school year.
