CLEVELAND, Tenn. A suspect was arrested in Georgia Tuesday for the 1989 death of a Chattanooga man whose body was found beside a south Bradley County road.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation announced the arrest of Samuel Gregory Johnson, a construction worker from Hall County, Ga., for the shooting death of American National Insurance agent James Carl Rose, 42.
In 1997, the TBI said, investigators received information that Mr. Johnson had been talking about the case. They took the case to the Bradley County Grand Jury Jan. 18 for a first-degree murder indictment, authorities said. They acknowledged that the two men had been acquaintances.
