Rhea County jurors today acquitted a man charged in a fishing tournament boating death after the prosecution and defense used computer-animated evidence paid for by the victim’s father.
Charles N. Kilpatrick was found not guilty of criminally negligent homicide in the December 2001 death of Matt Goins, 31, during a bass fishing tournament on the Tennessee River.
Mr. Kilpatrick, 48, of Dayton, said the collision was an accident.
"It has been a long process," Mr. Kilpatrick said after the verdict.
